If you're a Final Fantasy fan, you'll want to get yourself over to the Play Store as soon as possible, because Square Enix has just released Final Fantasy II and Final Fantasy Dimensions for Android.

The titles don't come cheap; Final Fantasy II is priced at $7, whereas Dimensions will put you back $20, but considering how much similar games from Square on other platforms cost, it's not a terrible deal.

The two Final Fantasy titles don't require a top-of-the-range smartphone to run smoothly, but if you want to play Demon's Score THD, Square's third release on Android today, you'll need a device which has a Tegra 3 chip. Demon's Score will also cost you $20 so it's not exactly an impulse purchase, but hey, it's the holidays, you can treat yourself!

Prices are out of this world for me.

I just happened to be peeking at the Square Enix sale on the iOS side <ducking as bottles fly by>, and I saw that they'd dropped the price of Demon Score and the in-app purchases for each of the demons. Seriously, they charge a fair bit for the game AND charged for each demon too. Does this version come with all demons included or are they going to stack more onto that?

I honestly don't get the point of Demon's Score. From all of the gameplay video I've seen, it's like Tap Tap Revenge, but slower and more graphical. I don't see how anybody feels ok about even charging for this.

It appears as if the in-app purchases are gone. The iOS package post-discount appears to be about $1 cheaper as compared with the Android one without discounts.

Seems as if Square chose to price the Android one as it was originally priced in Japan.

I don't want them on my phone! I want them on my Kindle! Release them on the Amazon App store Square!

Yes, I know I can root and flash a rom on my Kindle. I have. I just like more than 3 hours battery life, so I went back to stock.

I seem to remember seeing instructions that made it possible to add the Google Services Framework and the Play Store. I'm not sure if that stuff still works, but it might be worth a try.

All games feel like they should be on a SNES, buy only if you enjoy antiquated state grindfests.

I'll buy them as soon as I win the lottery.

Please stop paying money to this has-been of a game company. Most of their games do not scale properly at all on the Nexus 10. I just bought and refunded Final Fantasy 2 because it's just a small window on my Nexus 10 and they have the gall to restrict USB debugging??

F*ck you Squeenix. I have been a long time supporter of your games but this is just bull. Enough is enough.

Now they just need to release "The World Ends With You" on android :)

So this dimensions same as IOS where we need to buy each episode or does it bundle together with every episode?

  • kawaikunai

I'm really tempted to buy Demons' Score, as I've been waiting for it for aeons and am a huge fan of iNiS' Ouendan/EBA.

It's the same price as the iOS version after their holiday sale, but still... $20.

Do I really want to say goodbye to 80% of my Nexus 7 credit all in one hit?

I really wish people would vote with their wallets and stop buying all this insanely overpriced stuff from SE. Their prices are a complete joke.

  • Silver

I generally don't find that much problems with the price. Their games on consoles have always been the same with other games and on the phone, it's "cheaper" so I'm fine with it. Of course relatively it's expensive compared to the other games for Android but compared to consoles? I don't mind the price at all.

Final Fantasy Dimensions take at least 40 hours to complete. It very long game, and enjoyed every moment out of it.

I have no problem with price as long they release a quality game
