Earlier this month, Samsung started pushing Android 4.1.2 to its test bed in Poland. It seems that all must've gone well during the short, two-week trial, as it has now started pushing the update to a variety of different locales, including the UK, Germany, Switzerland, Russia, Colombia, Romania, and more.

Not only does the update bring 4.1.2 and all its goodies, but also Samsung's Premium Suite, which features a number of useful enhancements, like Multi-Window, page buddy, an improved Gallery app, customizable notification panel, smart rotation, the paper artist app, and more.

This one's showing up in phases, so if it's not available on your device – either via OTA or Kies – sit tight, it'll be there soon.

    No US :(

Any idea if this'll ever make it to Verizon's GSIII?

    • Jose Hernandez

Probably by September of next year. Verizon is the worst ever at updates.

I really like some of those features Samsung added like Multi-Window (thought it looks kinda cramped on the GSIII screen), but maaaan, TouchWiz is so ugly. Something about that blue, the green accents, and the gradients, just irks me.

  • WantaDroid

Not for US phones YET! next year sometime I bet.

  • D-fens

Got it on my polish (international) version for 2 weeks and must say that battery is horrible. Few calls, hour of WiFi and 3g and at 8 PM just 20% juice left. Just after actualization it was almost perfect. Gallery is great, multiwindow sometimes useful. I hope developers will upgrade their programs to use it.

    • WantaDroid

20% at 8 P.M. that's not bad for battery life, I use my phone more then that but at 6 P.M. I have to hit my charger with about 30%...

    • Forcemaker

Call me crazy, but I got two original, always charged 1600 mAh batteries in my shoulder bag... (I'm charging them when needed in a 3rd party available external charger) ...

... is this "unusual"? Are people really going with only one battery outthere?

(To make clear, in the last weeks I didn't even need the additional ones.)

After the upgrade to Jelly Bean my battery life was terrible, too. I did a factory reset and it's good now. A bit of a pain, but it's worth trying.

  • jaduncan

Did they fix their security hole from hell in this build?

    • aarmina

      nope!

  • Jaxx89

Hope Samsung India doesn't make us wait long for this update.

  • Forcemaker

It would be nice to know (in general, not only me) if there are alternatives for people not using the SGS3, maybe even not using Samsung devices at all?

Wouldn't this be a nice article on which single tools we could combine to come close to this Premium Suite?

Battery os horrible(20% by 8:00) .HD Video(1080p) shooting freezes at the 8th second when playing back.As well as a little more lag????? :(

    • s3fan

no prob with me. maybe battery is syncing with your new os.

    • s3fan

      or vice versa

  • con io

oh man we just got 4.1.1 in Australia (Telstra) , if we get 4.1.2 etc before Xmas , then there truly is a Santa Claus !!

  • nehrou

So, with this 4.1.2 update, does it support expanded notifications???

  • Ramon Blake Guthrie

Is there a way to make the Multi-Window transparent and add more apps?
