GALAXY S III Product Image (8)_B

While the majority of Galaxy S III owners on U.S. carriers are still waiting to get the Android 4.1.1 update, those with unlocked handsets in Poland are already receiving the Android 4.1.2 OTA. This update brings more than just a Jelly Bean point release, though; it also comes with a host of new features:

  • Multi-Window (a la Note II)
  • Page Buddy
  • New Gallery app (also from the Note II)
  • Customizable Notification panel
  • Smart rotation
  • Swype-like keyboard
  • Paper Artist app
  • ...and more

The update is rolling out in phases over the air right now, and is also being made available via Kies. For those who just can't wait, SamMobile has the firmware available for download, so you can manually flash it.

And the daily 'check update' resumes again! thanks AP for the headsup!

The Swype like keyboard is native to touchwiz, my SGS3 had it before the JB (4.1.1) update

    • krazyfrog

Yeah, the Swype-like keyboard functionality has been around for quite a while now on TouchWiz.

One thing I don't like about samsung devices is that they don't always use proper english... It's readable, but not correct. It's very annoying.

      any example please?

How many Verizon employees does it take to get JB on the S3 - answer - more than they have.

How many Polacks does it take to put JB on their S3 - one.

Next Verizon is going to start making submarines with screen doors.

Can you remove all the toggles in the notfaction dropdown so it just looks like stock android?

Can you remove all the toggles in the notification drop down so it just looks like stock android?

    • IncCo

nope, unfortunately you have to have a minimum of 5 quick toggles

      • krazyfrog

That’s great. I hate the sliding thing it does every time you open the notification drawer. At least it will stay still with five.

New update is marvelous. So far I didn't noticed any bugs. They even fixed AllShare Play that didn't work before.

"Majority of galaxy s3 owners waiting for JB 4.1.1"???? Everybody has it except Verizon! And doubt the one guy that bought his from verizon even cares! Now then, it appears the SGS3 is going to get to 4.1.2 before the Note 2 does? Great... all this stuff was developed for the Note 2 and it's the last one to get it!

  • bowker678

why cant I change the notification panel settings on my note 2??
