If you have a European or Asian model One X (read: Not AT&T), start frantically hitting that check update button - it's peanut butter jelly Jelly Bean time. We're hearing from multiple sources that HTC is beginning to roll out Jelly Bean to the One X in various regions today.

This update brings Android 4.1.1 and Sense 4+. Expandable notifications, Google Now, and some fairly minor tweaks like a new Gallery app in Sense are in tow. Sense also now has wonky holo blue highlights throughout the OS, so that's cool, I guess.

If you can't see the update on your phone, we've got a pretty easy explanation: your particular CID (a regional hardware identifier code, typically by country or carrier) hasn't had Jelly Bean rolled out to it. My European One X, for example, is CID 001, but has not received the update. In fact, we have no confirmations of any European CIDs receiving the OTA yet.

Here are the CIDs we have confirmation on so far:

044: Singapore
038: India
621: Taiwan (already rolled out last month)

As the day goes on, expect a lot more CIDs to be added. And if your One X has received the Jelly Bean update, be sure to let us know your CID! This can be done with a simple CID retrieval app (like this one). Alternatively, if you're a DIY'er, just load your One X into fastboot mode and open up a command prompt and type "fastboot getvar cid" - that'll do the trick, too. Here are some screenshots of the Jelly Bean build on an 044 CID One X.

Note that there will be two updates to get the OTA - a small "battery fix" update, followed by the larger Jelly Bean update.

This would be the same Jellybean rollout that started at the end of October then? Except it hasn't really - very few people have actually got the update - but HTC have been claiming since at least the start of November that it IS rolling out across Asia and Europe.... It's not.... Don't bother checking.....

That update only ever rolled out to Taiwan. This has rolled out to two significant CIDs as of today. It's a new rollout phase.

Ah... thanks for the clarification - that wasn't made clear. Oh well.... I might get it before next summer then... (I'm on Three UK)

Jumped onto fastboot to restore stock recovery a the very second I saw this =)
Downloading right now.. .707. One X .. from Singapore as well, even tough I bought it from a Canadian retailer.
Maybe you could mention there's a small 2mb mini update and reboot prior to applying the big 350mb one.
Will post my CID as soon as I'm finished IF different from CID's already on OP

not really that helpful, but sprints evo Lte (SPS 001) has nothing. documents (authenticity disputed) from sprint suggest rollout in the US starting this week for mass rollout.

Whilst I do like my HTC X, this issue of S-OFF/S-ON and S/W releases being inextricably linked to specific CID's has been a really pain. I haven't jumped ship, but I will most certainly have reason for pause before buying another HTC device.

Have to agree with you there, have held off rooting or flashing till stock JB comes and see how that rolls. My old Galaxy S was wonderful to be able to flash to my hearts content without too much worry.
It's nice to try other devs ROMS but will def consider just sticking with a Nexus next time.

Where do you get this information from? I live in Europe and got CID HTC_Y13... no update yet.
Would be great to see any sources.

I consider myself a big fan of HTC and sense, so I very much regret to say the update is quite disappointing.. I've been using it for just one day though, but so far no good

Hungary (we consider our selves European) has received the update for CID_044 phones. Mine is 032 so I'm still waiting. Damn you HTC, it's almost December and you promised this for October! Like others, I lost my faith too in the company, gonna move on to a Nexus for my next device...

  • tb

The update is disappointing also waiting with cid 001

  • Andrei

I have just received the update. I'm in Romania and I have CID 032.
