At the end of October, Rockstar Studios announced that the mobile version of its smash-hit Grand Theft Auto: Vice City would be coming to Android and iOS. Now, it has announced an official release date of December 6, with a $4.99 price tag across all platforms.

The release marks the 10th anniversary of a game many remember from the Xbox and Playstation 2. This version will be enhanced for mobile screens, including updated character models, lighting, and different control options that should make the experience as smooth as possible.

The company previously released Max Payne and Grand Theft Auto III to the Store with decent reviews, and now have better hardware to work with. Let's hope that they will be able to make us fall in love with the 80's mayhem all over again.

Like other Rockstar titles, GTA: VC will only be compatible with certain devices. Here's the full list (for now):

Android Phones: Motorola Razr, Razr Maxx, Razr Maxx HD, Motorola Atrix, Motorola Photon, Motorola Droid Bionic, HTC Rezound, HTC One X, HTC One S, HTC Evo 3D, HTC Sensation, HTC Droid Incredible 2, Samsung Galaxy Nexus, Samsung Nexus S, Samsung Galaxy Note 1 & 2, Samsung S2, Samsung Galaxy R, Sony Xperia Play, Sony Xperia S, P, T & TL, Sony Walkman Z Series Media Player, Samsung Galaxy S2, Samsung Galaxy S3, Google Nexus 4

Android Tablets: Acer Iconia, Asus Eee Pad Transformer, Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime, LG Optimus Pad, Medion Lifetab, Motorola Xoom, Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 / 10.1, Samsung Galaxy Tab 2, Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1, Sony Tablet S, Sony Tablet P, Toshiba Thrive, HTC Flyer, Google Nexus 7, Google Nexus 10

Of course, December 6th is still just a tentative date and could be pushed back if they run into difficulties while finalizing the build. We'll be sure to keep you in the loop as more news shows up.

This is too old to play. Most of us completed it for more than 10 times and all know how to accomplish missions and everything. GTA IV for tegra3(or any high-end) devices would be a massive hit. They are capable and also hungry for some heavy actions.

I'm a little ashamed to admit it, but I only recently picked this up (for PC) and have barely gotten a couple hours in. Same for GTAIII. So this is pretty cool for me.

Also, GTA IV apparently bogs down a lot of PCs so it would be interesting to see it on a mobile device.

The critic point of view has fairly consistently been that GTA: VC and SA were the best of the series. IV isn't terrible, but it has a lot of problems.

So VC on a phone, where its graphics are impressive for that platform, sounds lovely.

I've had it for years and never clocked it. Vice City was always one I didn't enjoy as much, even though a lot of my mates say it was easily their favourite. I might buy it on sale, but to be honest I barely played GTA3 when I got it on Android, and I loved that back in the day.

Sorry to tell you this but I haven't really played Vice City at all. This would be a lot of fun on my phone, just like GTA 3.

Awesome, HTC Flyer is supported this time! :)

I can't believe that this is supported on the Nexus S. 512 mb of RAM and only a 1gHz single core processor Other companies should take note...that being said, I'll probably only install it on the Nexus 7 anyways.

No it mean u can sideload it on phone like galaxy s1 and phone from 2010 with nexus s specs. U will need to not download to many apps or it probably will freese the phone

Vice city is a good game, i hope they add xbox 360 controller support like they did with GTA 3 then i can get it for my tablet and GTA IV on android will be hard to do as it struggled on PC as there were a lot of problems.

Its interesting that this is compatible with the Nexus S but GTA3 isn't.
