It's been a few weeks now since the 7" Kindle Fire HD went on sale. Beating Amazon's earlier announcement by a few days, the 8.9" version is now shipping, with the LTE model to follow next week. In case you've forgotten, the larger Kindle houses a 1920x1200 screen that's not quite the best display around, but definitely close enough.

If you're still not sold on this don't-call-it-an-Android tablet, here. Allow Amazon to try to convince you with a list of bullet points:

The basic 8.9" model starts at $299 for 16GB with Special Offers. That last part means that ads and "sponsored screensavers" will appear on your device's lockscreen. If you'd like to avoid this, you can pay an extra $15 up front. The 32GB model will run you $369 with Offers, or $384 without.

The Kindle Fire HD 8.9" 4G XL BBQ+ with LTE will be shipping next week on November 20th, right on schedule. The hardware on that model starts at $499, with a data plan for an extra $50/year and a 250MB per month allowance.
