We actually first heard about the upcoming Spectrum 2 for Verizon back in late August, but we now have full details, along with a couple of images of the device, thanks to Best Buy. The Spectrum 2's page went live at BB just a little while ago, revealing basically everything we didn't already know about the device.

There's no word on availability yet, but BB has the device's full retail price set at $650 for the time being. Considering this leak, we expect an official announcement from Big Red to show up fairly soon.

Could this be the Verizon version of the Optimus G? It sure looks and sounds like it, though it's missing the quadcore S4 processor...

It's not very similar, aside from the display and highly rectangular shape.

Don't the At&t and Sprint versions vary from each other?

        • http://www.androidpolice.com/ David Ruddock

Yep, and I've used both, and this looks like neither, particularly.

Took me an hour to realize those are capacitive buttons (they appear below the LG logo) that LG styled as (HC-colored - wut?) if they were on-screen, complete with the modern-style menu button icon. Sneaky.

But it looks nice at least. Though software buttons are prefered.

Why would they release this and a LG Nexus 4?

    Goodbye VZW LG Nexus :(

They are asking $650 for this? Out of their minds. The Optimus G is supposed to sell for $549 which is a vastly superior phone.

Let's see, with LG's track record, you MIGHT be able to see this get Jelly Bean in about SIX months. Or at least, that is how long it took them for the Lucid to get ICS after its release.

Another Verizon....FLOP....That will never be updated to jellybean...This the overall problem Lg has poor software and all that Verizon crapware it's pretty pitiful....
