Just yesterday, ASUS promised both TF201 and TF700 owners their Jelly Bean updates on September 28th and 29th, respectively. While they owned up to that for the Prime, the Infinity isn't so lucky: they just had to push the update back.

According to ASUS rep Gary Key, "a couple of applications that were recently updated (Facebook 1.9.10 on 9/20 as one example) required a last minute firmware update for the keyboard to operate correctly in the "Comment" area with Android 4.1."

It's not all bad, though - the update should still begin rolling out early next week. Personally, I'd rather wait a few more days for a fully working OS than have to deal with a buggy system right now, anyway.

the Prime update doesn't yet work for everyone in the U.S. either. It often fails the install and then can't be found again to try another download.

yeah I am getting check you notification for update, but failed to download, check your internet(when the Prime is right next to the router) or no update available.

Seeing previous comments about the TF101 not being on the upgrade path for Jelly Bean prompted me into rooting and applying CM10 today. Best thing I've ever done - it flies, super smooth, and has all the functionality of JB. Seems very stable even though I've only used it for a day, but it's been HEAVY use. Also, battery life seems better, not that it was ever that bad. Those Cyanogen guys are awesome!

LMAFO, well done Asus, you proved that its best to buy last years model over anything else you release.

Not understanding why the Prime keyboard is fine and not the Infinity's. Any Prime users with 4.1 having issues with commenting on Facebook?

Hey Asus, if I promise to never go on Facebook again, will you send me the update now?

  • DavidKeith

I would take Jelly Bean for the Infinity even if I could never use the Facebook App.....
