Bad Piggies, Rovio's much-awaited spin-off from Angry Birds has just hit the Play Store. For those unaware, Rovio's latest game has been in the works for some time now. The game features the same dastardly pigs you spent hours upon hours crushing in Angry Birds, but this time they're the protagonists…sort of.

Payers are challenged to work against gravity and physics in Piggies to take these pigs through various wild environments in contraptions and flying machines of their own design. With a simple vehicle-building interface and what look to be a huge variety of environments, it looks like Bad Piggies may just have what it takes to fill its predecessor's shoes as one of the best time-wasting games ever created.

The game has over 60 levels of "flying/driving/crashing fun," an "ultra-secret" unlockable sandbox level, and 33 objects you can use to create "the ultimate machine" from motors to wings, fans, rockets, balloons, and more.

If you're an avid fan of Angry Birds, it's likely that you'll find pleasure in playing Bad Piggies. It's free from the Play Store, so hit the widget below and "get ready to see pigs fly."

U.S., West Coast. It should work for you in a minute. The Play Store propagates slowly, I guess.

Works here - if it doesn't, check in a few minutes - sometimes the Play Store lags for new apps.

lol, its compatible with my Nexus7 but not with my SGS2?! Odd...

    • Shizzle

My bad, was trying to install HD version on my phone. Everything is fine on my end.

  • Tee

Found. The physics are good also in this one!

  • Himmat Singh

Nice, but isn't it weird they're going back to free after pricing Amazing Alex premiumly and having premium versions of AB Space?

    • Tee

Maybe BB Space Premium will be not free? :D

  • http://twitter.com/bat0nas Tomas Misevičius

It's really free? But I don't see any non free versions in the market yet.

    • John

Ad supported only for now *shrug*

  • fsdfsdf

Why do they release 2 different apks on the Play Store? Android can handle different screen resolutions in one apk!!

Think its due to marketing the app but its just plain stupid and causes confussion.

    • Himmat Singh

Wanna know whats even more weird? I installed both on my 10-inch slate. I took screenshots of both versions at exact frames i.e. beginning of levels and in the menu. Graphics wise, EVERYTHING is the same. Texture quality, rendering....all same! Even the ad size is the same. So why the two versions, Rovio? The one and only difference is that the object boxes at the bottom are slightly smaller on the HD version (optimized for tablets).

      • goldenscreen

both are same size too lol

  • http://twitter.com/bat0nas Tomas Misevičius

Which version to use on Galaxy Nexus?

    • Mike Yost

Both work, but I would recommend the HD version due to our HD screen.

  • Alain

    This game gets boring quickly
