Today's the day, Galaxy Nexus owners - Verizon just updated its support documents to reflect the long-awaited Jelly Bean update. From what we're hearing, the OTA is already rolling out, so you should be able to pull it down right now. You'll just need to jump on Wi-Fi and head into Settings > About phone > System update.

The 146.6MB update brings full, stock Android 4.1 build JRO03O. Better late than never - go get it!

Meh, just get CM10. then you won't have to deal with all that carrier bloatware.

    • Jacob Phillips

      does cm10 have bugs?

      • jammer

A few, but nothing that's a deal killer for most. I have a SGS3 with CM10, so I can't tell you anything definitive about the Gnex.

      • moelsen8

I've been running the cm10 m1 build since it was released and its by far my best experience with my gnex since I got it. Previously ran gummynex, cm9, and aokp (JB). I highly recommend it.

    • John

CM10 is pretty damn solid. AOKP was the goto ROM for ICS, in my opinion, but CM10 is a fantastic choice for stability+customization..

      • Jacob Phillips

        for JB right?

        • John

          Yeah. CM10 == JellyBean based

      • http://brgulker.wordpress.com/ brgulker

I still prefer AOKP. Has been more stable in JB with more customization.

        • John

@brgulker:disqus True. AOKP does have more. It's hand down my goto if I need extra customization. I only use 7 or 9 different tweaks (nav bar, lockscreen targets, unlink notifi/ringtone, notifi drawer toggles, custom gamma, etc). I'm an avid AOKP supporter, but after trying b1, which it may be better with b2 & others to come, I've settled on CM for now. I love having choices & that's why this phone is so great.

          • http://brgulker.wordpress.com/ brgulker

            Just so you know B2 >>>>>> B1

          • John

@brgulker:disqus Yeah I'm sure. Hell, I'd certainly hope so! I'll give it a little more time before checking it out again.

      • fixxmyhead

i think u mean aokp for MORE customizations

        • John

@fixxmyhead:disqus I clarified a few posts below yours(agreeing). I just meant it has the right mix for my needs.

          • fixxmyhead

            yea i noticed afterwards :/

I'm using Winner00's CM10 Linaro build. It's fantastic and stable as hell.

I actually need that bloatware to use my NFL Mobile app. The only other thing installed I don't want is the Verizon backup assistant. That is disabled, along w/ stock messaging in favor of Google Voice.

      • jammer

Some people have been able to use NFL Mobile on CM10 for the SGS3. Not sure if it works on the Gnex, but it's probably worth checking.

        • ddpacino

Damn.. thanks. I'll definitely look into that. Need my notification power widgets lol

There is an app you can use... Verizon Login Assistant (apk)... it's in the xda forums... Pretty much the first time you run Verizon's NFL app, it will open the Liogn Assistant (if you have installed it), and you login using your user name or phone number and password... you will be good to go from then on... JBSourcery has a mod you can addon to do the same thing

        • ddpacino

Appreciate the tip my man. I tried that before and it didn't work, so I gave up on it lol. This is the only reason I went back to stock, hopefully I can get better results next time.

          • blitz4075

Go look at JBSourcery... It works. It's a great rom. Tons of customizations...and I have the verizon NFL app working...when I'm at work, I can watch thursday night football, and sunday night football...

  • Jacob Phillips

yay! where's a link on how to downgrade for the people with leaked versions of JB?

  • Sammy Brence

Does this have any new Radios in it? Every Since Ive rooted my phone a while back Ive never had the same coverage since. I used to have great coverage where I work now It pops in and outta 3G. Then in Downtown OKC, where 4G is plentiful, it does the same thing..

    • ddpacino

I installed the leaked build, but the new radios were crap so I'm on the old ones. Will try again

      • jammer

If you put CM10 on there you can install whatever radio you want. I'm guessing there are a few radio options floating around in the XDA community. I know there are for the VZW SGS3.

But my phone IS my internet!

    • jammer

Yeah, but VZW doesn't want all their unlimited plan Gnex users using up all the bandwidth.

  • Tendo87

    I've got nothing yet

  • Christoph

My G'Nex is still saying it's up to date. :( I guess I'll just have to keep checking throughout the day.

    • Christoph

3 days later and still no update notification. :(

  • pdogg

How do you force an upgrade?

    • PIL

Try clearing app data from google framework

  • br_hermon

I'm running Bugless Beast so don't know that I'll do this but... Couple questions: 1. This update matches the previous leak right? So this includes the FF02 / FG02 radios? 2. Does the update include the Amazon Bloatware? (doubt it) 3. Does this included a "dumbed" down version of Google Search? 4. Since Pete makes Bugless Beast of of AOSP, and this is an official VZW build, does that mean it is considered as AOSP? I hope so, so Pete will build from it.

    • Larizard

I have the same exact question. I am also running BB (9-7-2012 build) and flashed the FF02/FG02 radios. Not sure if this is worth going back to stock for.

  • Hudson

Does anyone know if it's going to fix the signal issue on the replacement devices? I'm one of the unlucky owners that got a replacement with the bad radio.

    • Brian

me too this is the worst piece of crap I have ever had. I gave up on it so I just forwarded my calls to another phone. I really hope this fixes the problem. I'm tired of feeling lucky if I make it through 1 minute in a call.

    • Tino

why would you keep it? they sent me a replacement that kept losing signal and I called right back and got that replaced too

I removed loads of pics, but its still there. I don't know all ppl have the same problem or only scandinavians?

Still waiting for the update here in NorCal. Has anyone in CA received the update? Is there a way I can force the update (without rooting)?

  • Casey
