Does this app have to go via their servers or will it also work via W-LAN? Is this client better then say splashtop or teamviewer?

It doesn't go through their servers if you set it up manually, it's just a regular VNC/RDP client. If you set it up using a helper tool and that Gmail login (something I would never want to do), I'm not sure.

I'm tired of having to use a program to log in remotely (like the splashtop server). Hope this is real RDP so I don't have to use anything but the built in server in windows.

          It's the real RDP.

I really wish logmein would go free like it did in iOS

Bought the app, hoping it would support encryption with manual VNC connections, but it didn't work. Apparently, encryption only works with the automatic way that requires entering a Gmail login info and downloading a helper program on the server. No thanks.

Otherwise, I really liked the app (tried it without encryption on). Definitely one of my favorites as far as the interface goes, especially mouse handling (both dragging and clicking is supported to move the mouse pointer).

Noticed the program is a little finicky with double-clicking, otherwise pretty darn good...

Thought you might like to know it seems to be fixed with the latest update. At least that's been my impression with my few minutes using it, maybe a YMMV until more people confirm.

    Use free app X2

Too bad it uses an iOS UI in some noticable parts. They fixed it in many places but could really use an actionbar instead of that horrible low-res iOS bar. They seem to be good at customer feedback though so might be worth it to suggest it to them.

Btw. they have a free version too if people want to try it out.

What's the advantage of this over PocketCloud Remote RDP/VNC?

Bought this for $1.99 and played with it some last night. Again, Android Police, I am very grateful for your Deal Alerts. I've been wanting a app that allows me to ssh tunnel into my home machine from the phone or tablet and use vnc for screen sharing. This works perfectly on my SGS3 to my Macbook via ssh and vnc. Beautiful! Very happy with this app. I'll try it with the TF201 and RDP connections when I get a chance but am expecting everything to work as smoothly as the phone.

Doing RDP from my SGW is only slightly more fun than going to the dentist, but I'm grabbing this anyway, just in case I can nab me a tablet in the near future :-)

Probably one of the better purchases I have made from the Play Store. Very easy to use and works as advertised.
