Home Box Office Inc. brought updates to their HBO GO and HBO MAX apps today, adding various bug fixes, performance enhancements, and support for Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

For those who aren't familiar, HBO GO (which just got support for tablets running Android 4.0.4 and below last month), provides a mobile streaming service for those with eligible HBO subscriptions through participating television providers. Likewise, MAX GO provides mobile streaming for eligible Cinemax customers.

While it's great to see both of these apps updated to support the latest and greatest iteration of Android, it's odd that HBO's MAX GO app is still incompatible with tablets.

That being said, both apps are still pretty handy. If you're an HBO subscriber who's been itching to stream content to your Nexus 7, or a Cinemax subscriber lucky enough to own a Jelly Bean powered handset, hit the appropriate widget below to grab the updates.

Good to see people who can watch HBO on the TV's already can now watch HBO on their ICS devices. Now would you please offer a monthly service where I can get HBO without having to get cable or satellite please? Thanks.

As of 8/31/12 at 10am CST.. MAX-GO will NOT install on a Toshiba Excite 7.7 - - states it is incompatible with this device.

HBO-GO will install, and runs fine.

I don't understand what the difference is between them. If HBO works, the MAX should!

Is Cinemax mad at Toshiba or something?
