The words "Samsung Galaxy Camera" are nothing new; in fact, we first heard about this potential late last week. Looks like there was actually something to that, as full details, specs, and even a couple of images have landed in the hands of PocketNow.

The camera is said to sport a massive 4.8" display, 21x optical zoom, and 16MP BSI CMOS sensor. Under the hood, it's purportedly sporting the same SoC found in the Galaxy S III - a 1.4GHz quad-core Exynos - along with 8GB of storage and a microSD card slot. On the software side we're hearing it's running Android 4.1.

Samsung's Unpacked event begins shortly, so we should here full details then. Neato.

Haha, yeah I just saw the TechnoBuffalo vid, which makes things a lot clearer.

The thing basically *is* a phone with a full fledged camera module attached, and _not_ an Android-powered camera.

So it is a phone too? Hmm I wonder if it beats the S3 then.

Is it phone also? It is useless if it's not - it will stay at home like every other camera. Phone comes with me...

Looks great! But at this stage I don't really see the point of this rather than just having a phone with a good camera like the One X, SIII, GNex, hell, even the SII... so many phones now have 8Mp+ (not that that's the only thing which makes a good camera). Then there are the new Sonies that have 13Mp. To me you'd really need to be a photographer to get this.
