Microsoft's competitor to Dropbox and Google Drive, SkyDrive, just got an official Android app. Surprisingly, it actually looks like it was designed for Android, though the Metro influence is hard to deny.

For the unaware, SkyDrive is Microsoft's take on cloud storage, though it goes a step further by integrating remote access and collaboration tools (similar to Google Drive). While SkyDrive is undoubtedly a powerful tool, the Android app only allows for a portion of the functionality of the desktop service. With the app, you can access all the contents of your SkyDrive (including shared files), upload photos, share your SkyDrive contents via Android's default share options, and manage files.

If you're a SkyDrive user, this app is a no brainer. Grab it below.

You can sync folders without having them placed at a specified location like UserDropbox or UsersSkydrive. It's much more flexible.

Uh oh... Perhaps this is the first nail in the coffin of WinPho 7.

Maybe next week we will be getting iTunes for Android!

    • Abhisshek Das

we dont need blotted music player for Android

    • atlouiedog

Even if Apple brought iTunes to Android I'm sure it'd be as awful as iTunes for Windows.

      • http://meatcastle.com/ Youre My Boy Bloo

Agreed. I was saying that facetiously. I installed iTunes once in the last 5 years and after seeing what it did to my computer I uninstalled and have forever sworn it off. I now refuse to plug any device into my computer that requires an Apple driver. I have no doubt that iTunes on Android would be as fun as having my butt circumcised.

I don't use SkyDrive, but I am very glad that Microsoft stuck to the Android design guidelines.

    • Abhisshek Das

  • fixxmyhead

  • Abhisshek Das

trusting Microsoft is a huge issues for me . Any time they can delete my music files i got from The Pirate Bay ;-)
