ASUS tablet fans have been eagerly awaiting the Transformer Pad Infinity TF700 ever since it was announced, bringing a full 1080p screen panel (not to mention some much-needed wireless improvements) to the company's flagship tablet slot. The TF700 isn't scheduled to go on sale in the US until Monday, July 16th, but Office Depot seems to have jumped the gun. They're currently showing the much anticipated tablet as "in stock", presumably ready to roll out to anyone who pays the $499.99 MSRP. Don't everybody click that link at once, now.

Other go-to online retailers like Amazon aren't showing the TF700, so this is probably a clerical error on Office Depot's part. While you get free shipping if you pull the trigger, said shipping is of the vanilla 3-5 business day variety, so it probably wouldn't be any faster than walking down to Best Buy come Monday (or even getting Amazon's 2-day shipping). There's no sign of the keyboard dock on Office Depot's site - you know, that thing that makes a Transformer a Transformer - but it'll probably be available separately and in bundle form soon enough.

If you're still on the fence on this one, check out our ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity review. And take note, bargain hunters: the original Transformer Prime (still certifiably awesome) will probably get discounted here and there once stock of the TF700 stabilizes.

I love my Transformer Prime. I have the TF201 and it IS awesome. Asus came up with a GPS mod and shipped it to me free...The 700 will be great!

It uses the same dock as the transformer prime as I understand, so that is why a dock is not listed...

  • crk

    The keyboard dock IS listed.

I'm waiting for the 3G version =(, I want to know how much it's going to cost.

do we know which phone carrier is going to be supported yet?

      • Alaa AlSayed

Are tablets locked to carriers? I live in the Middle East, and we usually get unlocked devices that basically support any active SIM card =/. So no, I'm not sure which carrier is going to be supported. There's pretty much little to nothing information about the 3G/4G versions.

Ha Jeremiah, Thanks for your very inportant information and insight into the TF700T Tegra 3, this add says that this tablet is available at the Office Depot, but when I contact them they are saying it is not avalibale with the docking station packaged together. Could that be the unit will only be sold seperatly in US.

I'm probably gonna go with the cheaper TF300 instead. The Infinity is worth every penny, but the lower-end model's specs are still fantastic enough for me.

It's also on Adorama's and NewEgg's sites. Wouldn't surprise me to see it at Amazon, Best Buy, Fry's, etc., by tomorrow.

once you see what super ips + 1900*1200 looks like youll never go back to any other screen res, and instantly think of displays first

Amazon also has them on their site now too, but says it ships in 3 to 4 weeks....

B&H Photo has it for pre-order sales right now! all models! http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/search?Ntt=tf700t&N=0&InitialSearch=yes&sts=ma

It appears that my local Best Buys are not stocking them in their stores...or even have any on order according to my local store in the Dallas/Ft Worth area!

It's pretty much the best Android tablet out there AND it has the highest resolution of all Android tabs.
So what if it's not as high resolution as the iPad? I sure would rather make better use of the pixels by watching true widescreen videos. But the tf700 does have a couple of issues mentioned in http://www.squidoo.com/asus-tf700t
