The Nexus 7 was undoubtedly the biggest announcement to come out of Google I/O. And for good reason, too: it's the new face of Android. This next-gen Android slate is the future of things to come for our favorite OS, as it finally puts an incredibly powerful, yet affordable tablet in the hands of the masses.
As affordable as it may be, though, who doesn't want a freebie? In fact, how about two freebies? In celebration of America's Independence Day, we've got 'em thanks to Handy Apps.
Photo Locker
If you're not familiar with Handy Apps, they're the team responsible for some... handy apps (sorry, I couldn't resist) like Tasks N ToDos, EasyMoney, and a new app called Photo Locker.
Photo Locker makes it possible to keep specific images well-hidden from prying eyes by encrypting them and securing them with a PIN number. It offers many convenient features, like Bulk Hide, folder-level locking, and lock-on-sleep (just in case you forget to close the app before turning off the display). It also hides itself from the recent app list, so you don't have to worry about someone "accidentally" stumbling across it.
Once inside the app, it offers some basic photo manipulation features, such as zooming, image rotation, and slideshow, so you're not just left with a handful of pics for your own viewing pleasure without being able to, you know, view them.
If you need even more protection, the premium version not only gets rid of ads, but also makes it possible to hide the app from the tray, making is accessible only by entering the PIN number into the dialer.
