Some users of HTC's Incredible S have received a sweet surprise today, with OTA updates to Android 4.0.4 (Ice Cream Sandwich) rolling out throughout the day. Currently, the update seems to be going out to users throughout Europe, with no reports from North America just yet. The update is about 250MB, and brings the device's software up to version 4.10.405.1, with ICS running underneath Sense 3.6.

There's no word from HTC just yet on when the OTA will begin to roll out to other users, but we'll keep an eye on the story and update pending more information. In the meantime, those wanting to monitor the situation can check out this XDA thread.

Thanks, Sascha!

Too late, because I already ordered the s3. Farewell HTC for now, and I may return in a few years if they improve.

So ... they called their firmware 4.10.405.1 ... but it installed ICS 4.0.4 ... even though 4.1.x would be a JellyBean version number? Very clear on the versioning (this is a grip at HTC, not Google), good job!

Ha ha ha too late my Htc fiends. Your lack of support to older phones is the reason you'll find me in bed with Samsung,,, so farewell my beloved

I have had the full update as per the above pic ... but now have unbelievably annoying "clicking" when any part of the screen is touched... and then a rising ping/click as you scroll down the page! It can't be removed via any sound/personalization adjustment ... not even my 14 year old could get rid of it! Infuriating! and slow... has anyone else had probelms? can it be rolled back to previous version?

Im using HTC Incredible S, updapted my os on July29, where an update notification pop out and i feel so happy. However, besides a series of upgrade in
functionality and features, what extra annoying we got from this update is difficulty in touching (sometimes i need to touch for few times to get that word on keypad, keypad had became much less sensitive), and phone had became lag. I wonder is this my phone problem or the problem with firmware? I have friend using same version of phone and performed the same update with me, and yet experience the same problem with me.
