Well, we now have yet another reason to envy Google I/O attendees - a signed copy of the official Jelly Bean build has just been released on the 'nets, but it seems to only be working on the 'takju' (GSM) Galaxy Nexuses given out at I/O 2012 (or at least those GNs with the IMM30D firmware).

You can grab it for yourself right here, if you're interested in what's inside the 156MB ZIP. Don't worry, GN owners - we're sure with the appropriate modifications from the dev community, you'll be able to flash some version of this soon enough - not to mention the countless other goodies that might emerge. The real question is when this will be ported to other devices. And now we wait.

Oh my gosh, hurry and port it to the GSM/LTE GNex! I'm dying to get my hands on JB. Like, literally dying. I'm spewing blood everyw- look, just... just DO IT! D:

    • sky stanojevic

i'm with this dude right here.. i will be waiting impatiently for the Dev community to get this rolling onto my Gnex toro .. WOOHOO for the Nexus family :)-

      • Alpha55

And sadly I just got ice on my RAZR recently... you lucky bastards lol

      • http://twitter.com/rohanXm Rohan Mathur

The Toro is not part of the Nexus family. Sorry, buddy, but its true.

        • http://twitter.com/MichaelPOdegard Michael P. Odegard

Think so? Hmm, why does my phone say Google Nexus on it, and when it boots it says 'Google' and not Verizon? It may not be a GSM version, but if Google says it is a Nexus, I believe them.

          • http://twitter.com/rohanXm Rohan Mathur

Tell me that when you get Jelly Bean.

          • droidman101

Well get jellybean mid-july, whether Verizon gives it to us or not.

          • Ashish

Flip your phone over. Tell me where you see "Google"?

          • fixxmyhead

            Haha major burn from ashish

@60cd36cc39563969027d6f22203db8cd:disqus : I've flipped my phone and there I found "Google" but still my OS version is 4.0.2. So, there is relation between "Google" writing on the back of the phone and the OS version.

You are pretty damn gullible then.

        • Mike

That's why when people ask what phone I have I tell them the LTE Galaxy. Then I get sad because I can't give up the VZW coverage and want a Nexus.

    • Ivancedillo

      Get a life u shithead

  • Noriega713

Damn... I'm really really REALLY! Want to revert to stock... Just for this... Lol... I hope on not the only one. :-

    • Mrrrfinklea

       i got IMM30D

      • http://www.deanlubaki.com Dean Lubaki

        Download Link Please?

        • Mrrrfinklea

im confuess is it for all gsm models or only for the ones that was giving out today at I/O

  • http://www.facebook.com/sbrence Sammy Brence

Im on VZW, just went back to stock a week ago in hopes that JB will come ... but im not going to hold my breath, VZW always has to be difficult.

  • Calm Down Seriously

Jesus, calm down. Jellybean will be great I'm sure but at least take the time to fully appreciate the magic that is ICS. It makes me sad to see people cry for the bleeding edge when they haven't even fully realized the potential of what they already have. It'll be here - don't worry.

Also, why would you have to revert to stock? This isn't an OTA that you'd get with being on stock...

    • http://www.androidpolice.com/ Artem Russakovskii

But why? JB is like ICS, but even better.

      • Tyler Chappell

        No, it's butter, remember? :D

  • someone

The IMM30D build was also the one that shipped with the first batches of Play Store nexuses, so if we can find someone with a backup of that, we should be able to flash this.

  • Johnsondon1977

Wow, I'm proud of Google for the work they do but now I'm beginning to realize if you don't by a nexus you will be left out of all the fun. My year old g2x is just sad, so sad I had to go back to my good ol nexus one. Every ics hack for g2x has a problem, of the data isn't dropping out to never return than you can't hear phone calls or no mms. Even the gingerbread ota has problems so I guess that's what I get for straying away from Google phone's but I can't get any that are out now because I have two 32gb memory cards and refuse to be without them so I guess you are dammed if you do, and dammed if you don't. And that's my 2© :-P

  • Jastnorn

Os updates are coming too quick and older phones are being left behind too quickly. The Galaxy S III isn't even out a week and its out dated by an os update. Wasn't the Galaxy S III supposed to be cutting edge? What's the use in bothering with a new phone if it'll be completely out dated within 1 week. ICS is only what..... 6 months old if that.

Oh I hear that they will be releasing 4.2 in august and that'll be called Popsicle.

    • Dan Ehresman

No on all accounts. See here is the thing. There are the Nexus devices that get updates right away. They are Google's babies. You can get them if you want. The Nexus S 4g is 2 years old but still getting updates. ICS is well over 6 months old. It is no secret that Google has 6 months release cycles. Also, they are going in alphabetical order so the next version would start with H :P (hotcakes would be sweet).

Hate to say it bro you but you might be more into the Apple way of doing things. Yearly software cycles but older devices are less able to keep up.

      • Zomby2D

H was Honeycomb. The next version is rumored to be called Key lime pie.

      • moelsen8

agree with everything you said, but you mean "K", right?  "H" was honeycomb :)  "Key Lime Pie" seems to be the frontrunner according to the rumor mill.

      • Bob

Here's hoping you meant to say "K". Honeycomb was a tablet version and was not released for mobile phones.

      • http://twitter.com/Bateluer Robert Boluyt

        H does not come after J. :P

H was HoneyComb/3.x. Key Lime Pie is after JellyBean, AFAIK.

    • Elliott Hansen

ICS was released last October. It's not Google's fault that various phone manufacturers are taking so long to update their devices.

Let's not forget the just-announced PDK - that kit could potentially change the Android upgrade scene completely (or become a total flop, but let's try and be optimistic just for this one magical I/O keynote day).

Also, Android versions are alphabetical... that means the next version will start with a 'K'; here's the rumored name: http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/03/04/yes-key-lime-pie-is-the-only-dessert-that-starts-with-a-k-jelly-bean-is-probable-and-version-numbers-are-anyones-guess/. :S

  • sahilm

I'm really excited for when this hits the Verizon version in 5-6 months.

  • CordellCollins

on the gnex you can flash takju or any other of those things whenever you want through odin mode, therefore it is not limited to only the i/o edition.

God! So so good I bought an official Google branded phone

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=569338835 Joaquín García

Will it be available for "yakju" version? I'm OK with waiting, but only as long as I can download it through my phone, through OTA.

  • jjrudey

Not asking for an ETA but will this make it to VZW GN?

    • Tyler Chappell

      The answer is either

      Yes, many moons from now...Or..
      No.

  • http://twitter.com/Flippy125 Flippy125

I've got this installed on my Gnex and rooted. Running great!

  • Floriangramsamer
