Update: We've heard from Samsung that this page was put up by Amazon by mistake (aka, it was set to auto-publish), and has since been taken down. If you submitted an order, it'll likely be refunded in a short time, if it hasn't already. We can still take something from this, though - the Note 10.1 is coming soon (probably next month), and it'll likely be $550 for the 32GB version.

Original Article: Pre-orders for Samsung's Galaxy Note 10.1 have just gone live on Amazon. You'll need to shell out 550 big ones to get your hands on the upsized sibling of the original Note.

As we now know, it's packing a 1.4GHz quad-core Exynos chip, a handy stylus slot, and 32GB of internal storage. Amazon is showing a ship date of 3-5 weeks, so you can likely expect the Note 10.1 to be officially released some time before the middle of July. The Amazon listing also has some hilarious typos (though it is official - shipped and sold by Amazon):

Processor: 1.4 GHz Quad Core Xeon

Hard Drive

  • Size: 32 GB
  • Manufacturer: Flash Memory
  • Speed: 5400 rpm

To get your pre-order on, just head over to Amazon now.

    5400 rpm!?

    • http://www.androidpolice.com/ Artem Russakovskii

Amazon does this all the time to tablet listings. At least this time it's a quad-core Xeon and not a Celeron :P

      • http://codytoombs.wordpress.com/ Cody Toombs

Amazon uses a really goofy regular expression algorithm to auto-construct their tech specs. I've seen laptops with hard drives listed as 15" LED Backlit, 5400 RPM USB ports, Gigabit Wifi, and my favorite, a gaming rig that weighed about 4 lbs (turns out they didn't recalculate the weight from kg to lbs). I'm honestly amazed that Amazon doesn't have a HUGE return rate just because of false/incorrect advertising.

      and quad core xeon xD

Huh?? Wasn't the point of... Oh, nevermind, I quit...

  • NemaCystX

I hope the 16GB is a little cheaper, I'd rather get that and just buy a micro SD card

  • http://twitter.com/TheGermian Germian

I'd wait 6 months when they come out with the A15 + 1080p version.

    • http://twitter.com/AthoraX athorax

Agreed. I bought a touchpad because the price point was right. I use it a fair amount, but I am waiting on a quadcore 1080p tablet before I shell out $400+

      • http://twitter.com/TheGermian Germian

A dual core A15 would already be enough. If you thought the S4 is a monster, wait for a 'real' A15 CPU + the awesome GPU.

All this is well and good, but we
hope that they have a better screen, Full HD, like on the new LG screen, full
1920 x 1080P in an OLED, but NOT Pentile. And, completely water-proof and
drop-proof, as well. ESPECIALLY at THIS Price!

We would also like to see them
make their screen truly superambiphobic (that is: VERY water (hydrophobic) and
oil (oleophobic) repellant, to cut down on smudges and fingerprints).

      A superambiphobic screen is able
to keep itself completely clean of smudges, smears, water spots, oil stains,
fingerprints, etc. Lets get it on, Samsung! Recently I saw a friend’s phone
after he signed in with gestures. From several feet away I could see the
pattern he used smeared on the screen, even after several minutes of use. That
is NOT secure, we NEED better glass, superambiphobic glass, to be exact.

It should also try to make itself
a bit more future-proof. 2GB of RAM is an absolute MINIMUM! We’d actually like
      to see 4 or more.

      NOW you are getting somewhere.

But the worst part is the Price. Man, you can get an Pad Infinity for a heck of a lot less that THIS.

      • http://twitter.com/TheGermian Germian

The thing is, I can understand why it's more expensive than any other tablet: The S-Pen and the Wacom-digitizer (not only the technology, I can imagine the license isn't cheap, either).

Too expensive in comparison with for example the Acer Iconia A700? Well, yeah, I think so. Samsung should have the advantage to build a lot of parts on their own, so 500 would have been better, but well, you can't get everything.

      • casinrm

Uh... the Infinity is not out yet and there are no pricing details. Keep in mind that the Transformer 300 is $380 not even including the $150 keyboard dock. There's no way the Infinity can cost less than $500 plus $150 for the keyboard if the rumored specs are to be believed. The $550 is for the 32GB version of the tablet, which means the 16GB one will probably be $500 or less. And the S-Pen is included with the device, not sold as a $150 accessory. The Transformer would be more popular if the main selling point were included with the device. Also 32GB of RAM? What planet are you living on? Even the most powerful consumer PCs have 8-12GB of RAM.

Hopefully, they also add 2GB RAM this time. Makes tablet run much better.

  • UberKid

Manufacturer flash memory?!!?! MACHINES ARE TAKING OVER THE WORLD!!!

  • kangi26

    Wait......Flash Memory.......5400rpm??

    • http://codytoombs.wordpress.com/ Cody Toombs

Get a rope, tie one end to the tablet ;)

  • Sammy H.

So what ever happened to beginning of June? Even though the release date is pretty late, I would still like to see if it does, in fact, have all it's quirks before I pre-order it. Just think if Amazon was right about its specs this time. I'll just wait a little longer to buy it from Best Buy or something, to know what I'm really paying for. (Hope it has upgraded screen reso. :))

  • GazaIan

Manufacturer is Flash Memory? Sounds legit.

Now not available .. Pulled back

  • skynet11

Spelling fail just above your bullet list - it's Exynos, not Xeon :p Oh, by the way, since when does flash memory have 5400 RPM?

    • http://www.androidpolice.com/ David Ruddock

Did you even read the sentence before the block quote? I'm guessing not.

      • skynet11

Of course I read it - I'm just pointing out an error to the author to be helpful - I'm not bashing the author.

        • http://www.androidpolice.com/ David Ruddock

Yeah, you still haven't read the sentence before the blockquote. Please try again, one writer to another.

          • skynet11

            my derp - sorry

  • Sguy

I only wish it would be 550 dollars... In my country they have put the prize 799.90 euros in preorder: http://www.verkkokauppa.com/fi/product/24168/dfxxt and it's 1015 dollars! And if it would be something like that, i definitely order it from Amazon =P
