So you already have your ticket to Google I/O, and the flight and hotel are both booked. What more do you need? How about something to do at the end of day one? It just so happens that Lookout is having a party that very night. A Party Your Apps Off party. And you can get in. Well, not all of you - but 20 of you can score a free in (and bring a guest!).

Details:

  • When: Tuesday, June 26 @ 8PM
  • Where: This part is a secret :)
  • What: Lookout's big party in San Francisco on the first night of Google I/O. Drinks will start flowing at 8PM at a hot secret location in downtown SF & one of the city's best Food Trucks will be there serving snacks. There will be some goodies for the first folks who show up at the door. *Please note, this event is 21 and over.

Last year there was an open bar (!), food, and tons of Android-related gifts. Let's do the math here... drinks, swag, and snacks? Sounds like a good time just waiting to happen. So here's how you (and a +1) can get in

Congratulations - you will be contacted for your information in the near future!

Everyone else - keep participating and stay tuned to Android Police so that you don't miss our upcoming giveaway announcements. You can follow AP on Twitter, Facebook, Google+, and RSS.

First things first: this is for entry to the Lookout event only. It's not a way into Google I/O, nor are we providing hotel, transportation, or anything else that you may require. Ergo, if you're not already going to Google I/O, please don't enter.

With that little disclaimer out of the way, here's how you can score an entry:

Drop a comment below telling us why we should choose you. We're not going to randomly select winners this time; each comment will be read and we'll manually select the 20 winners, so make your entry count.

The giveaway begins immediately and ends on Friday, June 15th at 11:59 PM PT.

Good luck!

  • Sean Stone

I live in Santa Clara and have to live with the fact that Google I/O is happening in my backyard and I can't go. This will be the next best thing and a great break from my nightly duties as a father of a 2 year old girl.

  • Ben Edwards

I'd like to go to the party to tell people about Swappa and meet some fellow Android users.

  • Adickerson70

    Count me in!

  • Android Lover

My first I/O ever and things are just getting better and better. I love Android Police :P pick me because after a long year of exams and billions of other stuff I'm finally able to take a break and go on my first holiday in years. so please android police!? many many many thanks =]

  • Jeff Thgomas

I have been with Android since the G1 release in 2008 and this will be my second time attending Google I/O.  I hope to be able to attend this party and socialize with other developers.  This would be a great way to kick off the Google I/O events!!! I hope that you select me.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100000543370560 Roberto Zavala

Choose me, i have never been on anything cool.

  • Sophia

You should pick me as I'm recently divorced and i need a nite out on the town on Lookout's expense. i'll be wearing my sexy black cocktail dress if i'm picked!

    • http://twitter.com/sincerelygeorge Sincerely, George H

You should pick sopia and I. We will raise the female quota. She's wearing a dress. Wowah! I vote for her too!

  • http://www.theandroidsite.com benmarvin

This year will be my first time going to Google I/O and I wanna do it up right. Heck, it will be my first time in California. Also, if Android Police will be there, how could I not want to go?

  • http://wyldtek.com/ wyldtek

1: My flight gets in early enough for me to make the party.
2: I published my first app last year after learning a TON at Google I/O 2011
3: I jumped through major hoops to be able to make it this year
4: I need a break from my IT Security Masters program
5: I make an awesome bodyguard if things get wild :)
    6: I'm way over 21
7: Lookout helped my track down a stolen phone and report it to the police. I'd like to thank them in person!
8: My guest is pretty hot... and she's a developer too!

  • Benjamin LE CUN

Android developer here. Just moved to SF last month from France. I was hoping to get an entry to Google IO but as everyone know it was full really fast.

But I'm back today to show the bay how hard french developers can party :p

  • Ryan

Android + Open bar = my two favorite things. The lookout app is awesome, it would be great to meet some of the people behind the company.

  • Hondagod69

Because it would make my my year. It' been not so great :( .

  • domo

It'd be a nice opportunity to talk to people about computer security, so I would like to go.

  • Mr R

I love Android...and I'm already IN San Francisco...so give it to ME!! :)

  • http://meatcastle.com/ Youre My Boy Bloo

I am hoping that the food truck has food in burrito form. I don't care if it is sushi burritos, Korean burritos, breakfast burritos, or just regular old boring Mexican burritos. If there are burritos I want to come.

My deal to you is if you allow me to come I will eat a burrito, pound a drink, and then attempt some feat of physical prowess (like a flip). I will repeat these steps until I pass out or die.

  • Kevin Dahlstrom

What a great date night for my wife and I (we live in the area)! Well, maybe not so much for her. Although, it could be. We both LOVE Android. Just to be close to Google I/O peeps to share in the knowledge and joy. Oh, and the swag, bonus! Help us have a fun night on the town with the kids safely in the hands of Bubbie and PopPop. Please!?

  • will

    sounds like an awesome event

  • miso_sori

This year I had a great idea, to get my company to pay for a ticket to Google I/O 2012.  After giving the spiel to my boss, she agreed! So I got my dad and my brother, who are both equally geeky, to agree to try to attend as well.  Ticket day came and all three of us were in front of our PCs ready to sign-up.  Unfortunately, my brother was the only one who was lucky enough to get a ticket, so I want to win the Lookout Party Tickets so I could spend at least one night of pure geekdom with my big brother.

  • John O’Connor

I guess I will wait til next year.  Time to book a hotel for May 2013

  • Will Welch

Since I'm footing the trip out of my own pocket, I don't seem myself going next year.  Plus, I get in a day early and need something for Tuesday night!

  • delesh

When some low life broke into my car and stole my wallet and phone I was able to use Lookout to lock and remotely wipe all of my precious data. I was also able to get a nice GPS location for the scumbags house, where they had apparently been running quite the crime ring. It would be awesome to meet the people who saved me as well as karma coming full circle if I were to be selected for this party because of this story.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=12003278 Jared Rameses Session

    You should pick me because:
I'm kind of a big deal. Many people know me. I have many leather-bound books and my apartment smells of rich mahogany.
People would congratulate your decision making and be impressed by your impeccable taste.
I have completed several open bars and currently hold the distinction of being the only man to ever finish a bottomless mimosa.
    31 is the new 21?
    I am a scholar and a gentleman.
I know a guy who can get stuff.
I'm black and you should diversify your party.
You can make Subway and Jewelry store jokes all night!

    • Alexddupree

       I would pick thee

  • Chris Anderson

I will be attending Google I/O. I am a developer. My app has
been on the market since 2010 with 50,000+ downloads and 4.4 out of 5 stars. I
will be there on the 26th. I need something to do with my wife
before I put her on a plane on the 27th. Computer security and cocktails
will surely woo her... or at least get me a hall pass for the week.

  • aves

I have attended past IO events and loved it, however I always found it hard to make the most out of my stay in SF and by that I mean getting to know new people. Being from a poor eastern european country, I never knew how to get in on events like that until it was too late. Help me in my quest for networking, but also just having fun with other developers :)

As a bonus, my significant other and I decided this trip is the last chance for us to either make up or break up depending on how we spend the time together. I'm sure a party like this would help :)

    • http://twitter.com/sincerelygeorge Sincerely, George H

wow. u need to exprience sf. me to. email me @gmail.com if you want to get out and explore. im traveling into sf by myself too, meeting up with friends and making the most of This adventure. Let's eat, talk, drink and be marry. Best of luck with wooing your amazing girlfriend. Hope we can all meet up and explore ways to use Lookout. Rocking software throwing down a party.

  • Stephen Mitchell

Even though the schedule does not reflect much on this topic, I am hoping to be able to get more information about the Google@Home project. I am very interested in the possiblities of a standard in the future of home automation.  Hopefully going to events like this will allow me to network with others who share the same interests.

Here's to hopefully getting one of the 20 tickets to the Lookout Party :) Maybe my wife can score one as well!

  • http://twitter.com/NullColaShip Paul Nicholls

I'm coming all the way from Christchurch, New Zealand for I/O - I had to stay up until about 3am one night (general ticket sales) and then pull an all-nighter (Code Jam Sprint to Google I/O), both on work days, just to get a ticket to I/O!  Partying my apps off at the Lookout party would be a great way to get properly psyched up for I/O (the 26th makes it the night *before* I/O, not the first night of I/O)!

  • Bonafyde

My girlfriend and I fight all the time about which is a better. Android or iPhone.
Going to this party will show her how cooler Google is compare to Apple.

  • FREEZ

This will be my 3rd Google I/O. As enthusiastic as I am about Android and Lookout, if you pick me as one of your 20 for this party I promise to keep my clothes on for the entire event and in no way Streak the venue. Scout's honor.
(I will even bring a smoking hot date!)

  • Richard

Don't get excited about this. I went last year, and the "swag" was a bag with one Android vinyl figure and a shot glass. It is kind of embarrassing. It all has the Lookout logo on it.

The party itself is VERY boring. Weak drinks at the bar, a decent food truck, and a lack of all around awesomeness.

It'll be at Minna Gallery. It's not really that secret.

For those of you coming from out of town, just go somewhere else instead.

    • http://twitter.com/sincerelygeorge Sincerely, George H

Sweet...so we won't need a duffle bag to drag home the swag. I say SF early night adventure after party! Let's follow up this amazing networking event with something special. SF is awesome, so let's find a place close to Moscone conf center and lay down some Droid excitement. Any votes for music genra. I'm going to Google I/O. Top that!

    • http://www.androidpolice.com/ Artem Russakovskii

I was also at this party and, since it's free, I didn't look a gifted horse in the mouth, enjoyed my drinks that I asked the bartender at the open bar to make however I wanted, mingled with people who I wanted to talk to instead of thinking the party sucks because nobody was talking to me (they were), and enjoyed my Lookout-branded Android figurine who joined my collection.

    • http://www.androidpolice.com/ Artem Russakovskii

P.S. You were wrong about the location as well.

  • Doug Stevenson

    I'm an Android Dev /
    My handiwork is SoundHound /
    And this bad haiku

    • http://www.androidpolice.com/ Artem Russakovskii

You worked on the development team of SoundHound?

      • Doug Stevenson

Yes, I'm the dev lead for SoundHound on Android!

  • http://profiles.google.com/eoropilla Evic Oropilla

Not gonna lie I just want to drink and party with like minded peers to kick off Google I/O!

    • http://twitter.com/sincerelygeorge Sincerely, George H

I second that. As Evicis kicking off the party, I will be there as a 'celebration facilitator'...'so as one of 5000 who got a ticket in 20 minutes, what do you have to say about world peace?' I will dress up and celebrate being chosen. Thank you for the contest.

  • Greg Hohenbrink

Would love to attend the Party, Lookout has been on my Android(s) for years.

  • Andrew Duane

I might have to work from the hotel the other nights, so I'd love a chance to interact with the community while I'm available.

  • Andrew Budker

I would be totally in. Love the app! First time attendee looking to meet interesting people.

  • BigEHokie

Attending my first Google I/O event, coming all the way from the right coast (Virginia!!!). I would love to have a ticket to attend this event, I need the ultimate I/O experience.

  • Tony

You should just forget about reading further and choose me as one.  Why not right?

  • Matt Donovan

Went to this party last year and had a great time talking to a bright lookout developer about security! I would love to get the chance to talk with him again!

  • cfsmp3

A number of reasons to pick me:
    - I bring a girl (my wife, but still)
    - I'm coming from Spain (do you give bonus points for distance?)
    - Google my nick and you'll see that I actually release stuff, I'm not a theoretical developer :-)
    - We promise to go easy on the snacks, promise nothing on the drinks.

  • ophelan

I'm flying in from Florida for I/O. This will be my first time and I'm amazingly excited, and I'd love to be able to take my friend that's putting me up for the week out to the party as a way of thanking him for the inconvenience.

  • Sean Catlin

I am Coming from Indiana, I have been publishing Android apps since December of 2008 (way before Android was as popular as it is today), I have had over 5 million android application downloads as an independent developer (snctlnSoftware snctln.com), I have a full time job as an Android developer, and I have been reading Android Police for years!

  • http://twitter.com/sincerelygeorge Sincerely, George H

let me start by saying Lookout rocks. I am so stoaked about Google I/O. And can't wait to break out my super geek. I would be honored to go to your party. Promise to bring single-n-loving-life girl (me) and have FUN. Life is better with Lookout! Eager to chill with the Lookout crew.

  • Aaron Frost

I am a total lookout Fanboy. Last Fall, I found myself digging through a dumpster at Carl's Jr in South Jordan, UT, looking for my cell that I had accidentally thrown away during lunch. How did I know it was there? Thanks to you creative bastards! I would love to come thank you in person.

  • http://www.facebook.com/dextor Sebastiano Gottardo

There are exactly 42 reasons why you should choose me.

  • David Castro

I'm Coming from Tijuana, México and bringing a maraca (Wood device to make noise). This is my 2nd I/O Atttendance and i'm very excited for it!

It won't hurt to have foreigners of your neighboor country on that good party ;)

  • http://www.facebook.com/dario.marcato Dario Marcato

You are not going to leave this amazing business card out of the party, are you?

  • http://www.facebook.com/JacopoFioccoVolpin Jacopo Fiocco Volpin

    ... neither this one.

  • http://twitter.com/MattS154 Matt S

Well, my friend won some tickets from Droid-life and he can't figure out who to take with him... and I want to go, so I need some tickets :)

  • Jesse Baynard

You should pick me because I procrastinated till the very last minute to comment. Oh and we're coming in from the other coast for I/O and need something to do that night.

  • NeverFollows

Coming from France, Google I/O will be certainly one of the best event of my life!
Particularly looking at NFC wallet and mobile payment.

  • http://www.androidpolice.com/ Artem Russakovskii

Winners posted, see you all there!

  • miso_sori

Wow! Thank you so much Android Police!!!  I can't wait to get my swerve on while rubbing elbows with the Lookout gang!
