Official word from HTC on the customs review of its smartphones is that the process has been completed (confirmed for the EVO 4G LTE, AT&T One X). The review was the result of an Apple lawsuit at the ITC for patenting infringement, which culminated in the issuance of an exclusion order for all HTC smartphones entering the US. The statement, below:

“HTC has completed the review process with US Customs and HTC devices have been released, as they are in compliance with the ITC’s ruling. Future shipments should continue to enter the US and we are confident that we will soon be able to meet the demand for our products.”

HTC has been deliberately vague here, so it's hard to say exactly what is meant by "completed the review process." While HTC did confirm that the EVO 4G LTE and AT&T One X had been cleared, it provided details for no other potentially affected hardware. While the One X still shows out of stock at AT&T, we imagine this will be changing soon.

The EVO 4G LTE began shipping to Sprint pre-order customers late last week.

HTC never officially acknowledged if delays of the Amaze 4G were related to the ITC exclusion order, and has not commented on the availability of that device.

From what I've seen very few have come through so far, and mostly just for some of the pre-orders. Hopefully this will allow them all in.

I don't understand why everyone is acting as if there's no problems going on. AT&T isn't keeping customers updated, Amazon Wireless isn't, nor is HTC. It's like if you don't have the phone, you won't have the phone. I've been waiting since May 10th and I'm over it. I'm just going to save my $549.99 and pre order the iPhone 5 when it's availible. The one time I decide to give android a chance, this happens.

  • mikeGsays

I say that when the iPhone 5 starts shipping from China, HTC and Samsung team up to block that garbage from even leaving the port....  how ridiculous is Apple for this?  Ah well, it's not like those iSheeple know or even care how disgusting their favorite company is, they just have to BUY BUY BUY....

Name calling really. From someone who owns both an Iphone and a SGSII I have to disagree. Android phones are made by many manufacturers and I know people who routinely buy a new device every couple of months because they don't like the one they currently have. Not to mention at full retail price. Again from someone who owns both iOS and Android, I don't take it very well when name calling commences. It just shows lack of maturity and openness to variety. iOS has it's advantages, for one it never restarts ever. My GSII about once a day for no reason at all. Not to mention the GPS is spot on and I don't have to reset it with an app. It just works. So if they felt there was a copyright infringement, then it is better to let the authorities work it out and be safe than sorry. Grow up.

Oh shut up, that's ridiculous.  Any person that chooses to buy a brand new phone, at retail price does so because they feel the need to have the newest phone.    Be cause Android gives you choice is the reason that a person can go from phone to phone, and I bet those friends are buying HIGH end Android phones.  If you get a crappy Iphone you have no other choice.  What name calling isheeple?  That offended you?  How about you grow up.  Because someone has a different opinion of you, especially a valid one, does not make them immature.  There are plenty of people that have had, and deal with crappy iphones.  I wish people would stop buying into the idea that every iphone works perfectly all the time.  That is just not true, their are plenty of bad apples in the bunch.  If it was perfect no one would ever defect from ios to Android.

Eddie Jr, Shut up really. It is not his opinion that is the problem. How about an educated response without the name calling. That is what I am talking about. Telling someone to shut up is just as immature. People can have an opinion but when they start the name calling it is just ridiculous. I have had iphones since day one and never had any issues with them. I have had many android devices and all of them had issues of their own. I am not saying that Android is bad or iOS is superior. What I am saying is that someone who benefits from both has more weight than an Android user attacking an Iphone user because they feel that it makes them feel better to call names and attack the other competitor, when the fact of the matter is this, you nor him probably never used an iPhone so your opinion is bias. See no name calling just stating my opinion.

Mike Smith is the "Holier than thou" type of douche. Under that smug exterior shell, he's still just another ordinary douche.
Sorry, for the name calling, but all you're doing is the standard Apple response. Try to blind people with an off-topic answer so you can avoid the elephant in the room.
The fact of the matter is that Apple has declared war on Google, Android, and all of their supporters. They have no morals, and they are willing to he any kind of slime that they need to he to try and win.
If they were really so innovative and original, they wouldn't have to try to sue everyone constantly to try and prevent sales. Just wait until Google starts firing back now that they have all 17,000+ of Motorola's patents.

While I'm just as angry about the state of the patent system (it's not just Apple, although they can be pretty ridiculous), revenge, in this scenario, only really hurts the consumer, not the company.

Grrr, still no ETA on when AT&T or Amazon will get the One X back in stock. At this rate I might as well just wait for the Galaxy S3.
