The Grand Theft Auto series is a veritable gaming classic, spanning 14 games and numerous clones. The games are all highly addictive with enthralling storylines, and Rockstar has been able to replicate this magic formula with GTA III for Android.

The game normally retails for $4.99, however in celebration of the Memorial Day weekend, Rockstar has decided to massively discount it by 80%. Starting today you can pick up the game from the Google Play store for just $0.99, but hurry, the offer is only valid till Monday, May 28th.

We’re celebrating Memorial Day weekend with a special sale on Grand Theft Auto 3 with a low price at 80% off, starting today through Monday, May 28th.

This is a great deal for a game that has truly stood the test of time, and it should tide you over until GTA V is released!

Oh crap! I wasn't planning on getting it, but now I HAVE to! lol

  • Desirel33t

I can't find any compatible version with my Desire HD. Any workaround?

    • ProductFRED

It's going to run really, really, unplayably slow on a single-core device. It lags on a Nexus S alone. But if you want to buy this just to have it, buy it on any other compatible device you own, and use Titanium Backup to back up the APK (assuming that device is rooted). Then just restore it on whatever you wanna run it on.

      • Desirel33t

No, it won't. I "sideloaded" the apk when it first came out and it ran smoothly.

In celebration of yet another week of delay with Max Payne...

You got that right. They should have never announced the dates if they were this unsure and unprepared.

Only £0.76 (strange price) but it looks nice, runs smoothly and well I like it.

      Conversion from dollars into pounds

I bought this a while back. It's still amazing to see how well this runs on my galaxy nexus

  • guyfromtrinidad

Still not available in my country, wtf rockstar.

    • ProductFRED

Blame your country, not Rockstar. If they could release it globally, they probably would.

      • guyfromtrinidad

How the hell can I blame my country? So should I blame my country because Google doesn't allow me to download Google Earth or Blogger from the Google Play store? EA by comparison, for their apps always has two links, one for USA and Canada and the other for the rest of the world. Rockstar has four and I still can't get for my country. Note that I can access paid apps (for over a year) from my country, just not Rockstar apps.

I'm saying that Rockstar probably can't release it due to some legal restrictions. Stop taking everything so personally.

Wow what an ignorant comment by a fool.

  • Areyouatool

Yes, now I just need to find the right app that will let me use my ps3 controller

  • OT86

Just bought it, sweet game to play on a Galaxy Nexus.

  • NemaCystX

Awesome, Thanks Android Police, I wasn't going to buy it but at 99 cents, heck yeah.

Just bought this, it's a fantastic price. Downloaded it (and Chinatown while I was at it) for my iPad as well. Interestingly it works on the Xperia Play which is single core but, not my HTC Flyer :(. Think I might swap my S2 for a Note for on the go GTA gaming.

  • Dustin

Fully ready to buy, but evo 3d is not supported. When in actuality it apparently does work. They should probably review their list of compatible devices, they're losing money.
