The title should make this one obvious. HTC has published a brand-new list of its devices to get Android 4.0, but the difference between this one and previous lists is the level of detail. Most phones have a target OTA deployment range of 2 months, significantly more precise than the typical "quarterly" guestimates we see manufacturers publish generally. Here's the list:

DROID Incredible 2 by HTC: To be determined (by the end of August)

HTC Amaze 4G: May-June

HTC Desire S: June-July

HTC Desire HD: July-August

HTC EVO 3D: June-July

HTC EVO 4G+: May-June

HTC EVO Design 4G: June-July

HTC Incredible S: June-July

HTC Sensation: March-June

HTC Sensation 4G: March-June

HTC Sensation XE: March-June

HTC Sensation XL: April-Jun

HTC Rezound: June-July

HTC Rhyme: June-July

HTC Thunderbolt: July-August

HTC Velocity 4G: March-June

HTC Vivid: March-June

A few notable absentees include the Inspire 4G (which is a Desire HD variant), EVO 4G, EVO Shift 4G, myTouch 4G, Status, and Wildfire S - though most of those weren't expected to get the update in the first place. The list also includes some devices that have already received their Android 4.0 OTAs (Sensation, Vivid, Amaze).

  • Tommy Thompson

    What is the EVO 4G+?

  • Brian Morris

We have seen these 'official' statements before, the Rezound update was supposed to be out in March, then April, then May 9.. Surprise surprise, its moved back yet again. At least give us the damn kernel source for ICS so the developers can do something they cant seem to do. I understand its mostly Verizon's fault, but its ridiculous that they don't at least release the kernel source.

  • Flaime DeFeo

I'm really surprised the Thunderbolt is on there.

The OG Evo and OG Dinc not being on there is not, however.

    • Tyler Chappell

HTC announced a few months ago that the Thunderbolt would indeed be getting ICS, I am actually mildly impressed that the wait from Froyo to GB appears to have taken about a month or so longer than from GB to ICS, kudos to HTC.

Looks like Verizon and HTC are setting up a race between the Thunderbolt's ICS update and when those first day LTE contracts will be eligible for a 2 year upgrade on 11/18/2012. My guess is the upgrade will come and go before Verizon pushes that update out.

  • E72aD

EVO 4G+???? I clicked the link and the OG EVO 4G is there.. what is that about?

  • Androidbuff

I was hoping for better news for the Incredible 2...
    seems vague...
I wonder if they are changing their mind.
    This is an eol phone...

    • xdaben

I don't think they are changing their mind on the update they just don't have an ETA on exactly when it will be pushed.

  • Sserr2010

    What is Evo 4G+???

    • Scott

I believe it's a Korean or Taiwan specific model.

  • Elkin Dario Perez Pico

Why HTC why??? dont upgrade My Touch 4G .. i rlly pissed about this

    • Bigmonster2621

      I agree with you.

      • Unhappybirthday

If you are a root and flash type, we have a few ICS ROMs now for the MyTouch 4G (HTC Glacier) on XDA that are relatively stable and mostly functional. Since our device is so close to the DHD, those should improve significantly when that ROM is released.

  • Danadebroy

Don't be upset if you do not get it. Had for a day on the amaze and for months on the transformer and it is awful.

    • HelloDroid

I've had it for 2 weeks on the Amaze, loving it, much smoother and battery life has been improved, not by much but I Can get through the day with still 20% on moderate use...ICS>GB

  • Steelers4life727

No mention of the Hero S...I know It's a variant of the EVO Design 4G but It's not on either list

  • http://twitter.com/cirian75 cirian75

Out of order HTC, the HTC Sensation XL is just a mini HTC Flyer, 100% the same cpu and gpu

  • fixxmyhead

sad that the mytouch 4g slide a dual core phone better than the desires and newer isnt even on that list. sucks to be my friend

  • http://codytoombs.wordpress.com/ Cody Toombs

Kind of worth saying, for some devices like the Desire HD (Inspire 4g), the update to ICS is coming out for a phone that (by the time the update comes out) will be 2 years old.  To be fair to HTC, they are supporting devices a bit longer than Samsung has.

Also worth saying, if you're an Inspire 4g owner (as I am), you probably aren't getting an update from AT&T...at least not before you have the option to re-up your contract and get something new.  If you care about getting ICS on your Inspire, it's probably time to give up and look to flashing custom roms.  The couple I've tried so far are pretty great except for battery life which seems to be a bit on the weak side.  Remember, once the DHD update comes out (let's hope for sooner), then we'll also get some improved driver support.

    • Taliesin

That is exactly what I was thinking. Once the Desire HD update comes out, CM9 can roll those drivers into their own ROM, and the Inspire will be capable of taking over the WORLD...well, maybe not, but it'll still make me happy.

This is so fucking bad of HTC, I did not even know it were possible to use almost a whole year to just upgrade from Gingerbread to ICS. This damages the whole Android market.

  • Laurens Van de Velde

purchased a desire hd in oct 2010, no regrets...

  • Simon Belmont

Didn't think the EVO 4G would get an update to ICS. I'm glad my EVO 3D will see an update next month (hopefully).

As for the tablets not getting ICS, that is a shame. Especially for the ridiculously priced HTC Jetstream.

  • Falconator

    To Be Determined??? Damn You!!!!

  • Okan Ozden

i hope, Desire HD's battery problem doesnt continue..

  • Chris Dube

July to August for the Thunderbolt? Just release a working 4g RIL HTC, nobody cares about porting sense to ICS.

  • Asdf

  • Tyler Chappell

As a Thunderbolt owner, I think the July-August timeframe is very reasonable.
GB came out in Dec 2010, the Thunderbolt came out on March 17th 2011 with Froyo, got mine 2 weeks after it came out. Rooted and ROMed and finally installed my first GB ROM in August of 2011. Then GB officially came out on the Thunderbolt at the end of Sept/October.
Based on this new information, I expect I will likely be running a fully-working ICS ROM in late July on my Thunderbolt.

  • Arun0622

    Why not for wildfire s ... ?

  • Stavangerske

The update for Incredible II (or Incredible S) is already released. I got it a week ago :)

Looks like you all are behind a big wall !!
HTC isn't gonna get ICS on the Desire HD !!
Already a petition is running on XDA Dev site an more then 13.000 people already signed it

  • HTC Desire S

It is now August and my HTC Desire S still hasn't received the update what should I do ?

  • HTCanGoSuckIt

Do you guys know what I'm pissed about? They are supposedly releasing ICS for the HTC Thunderbolt between July and August and it's the beginning of November... still no update. Got sick of HTC so I'm waiting for my iPhone 5 to come through shipping. Goodbye Android. HTC has gave me the worst experience ever.

  • Harsh Chopra

Sadly the Desire HD didnt get the update
