I'm getting a 'No Firmware' message when I try to update... anyone else getting this? I am rooted, so that may have something to do with it.

if you're rooted get ClockWorkMod and goto
xda-developers.com and find your device in top right goto android development and find a ics rom for your device
reboot into ics flash the zip
you now dont get any errors

Update via Kies so slow. It is taking forever to download, then returns error that download file was corrupted.  I had triied several times then gave up.

This is incredibly sad and pathetic TMOB. MY SG2 has been waiting for ICS for a while. As a rooted and rom'd user I'd prefer you to release an actual version of it for the phone so that I can get a rom based off that setup for ICS. By the time the SG2 gets ICS on TMOB , the SG3's will be sitting in store shelves.

Sometimes you have to do an incremental update before you do a full update. Sometimes things have to be in place first.

You'd better shut up before people start hurling curses at you. The freaking phone should have been updated a long time ago.
I guess Tmobile and Samsung consider their customers as inferior, second class citizens. Stupid, freaking companies!

Stupid Tmobile and Samsung! I wish T-mobile used international frequencies like normal companies, or that all high end phones were pentaband, then I would never buy a US version of a phone since I can see that we're so insignificant that we always are the last, if ever to receive updates.

    • TrevorMadden

Did you miss the memo? By the end of the year, T-Mo will be using the 1900MHz (read: international) frequencies for HSPA+ lol

      • AbsolutoCaos

i'm in portugal, got a Sam gs2 t989 t-mobile here working on TMN carrier with hspa, not tried the hspa+ thou. Using it as normal as it can be for a phone from USA! Very cool and powerful and unique, since this one is the USA version with no home button like the euro one with the center button!
Going to wait for the stock ICS to flash via odin! In the mean time using modded rom from XDA.
