Samsung-Galaxy-S2

Here's a bit of good news for all of you who have an unlocked (global) Samsung Galaxy S II here in the U.S.: Ice Cream Sandwich is being pushed to your device right now. This makes the global GSII the first of the GSII family to officially get Ice Cream Sandwich in the U.S., as none of the three American carriers that offer the phone have begun sending the update yet.

To see if the 217MB update is available on your device, hit Settings > About phone > Software update.

Enjoy.

Ugh, and this is why I loathe carrier-branded phones.

this update isnt even for the carrier version of the phone. its for the international one being used in america... yeah carriers suck.

218mb? is that 109MB for ICS and 109MB for TouchWiz? /sarcasm

It's insane how long it takes the updates to get to the US, through the carriers its even worse. There is no reason it should take this long for a carrier to update this phone.

What version of ICS are they delivering via OTA to the  SGS2 ?  There are some issues with signal loss on the Galaxy Nexus, after the OTA to ICS 4.0.4....

I wonder which version are they getting and if the issues are also there on  that hardware platform....

    Comments?

since I updated my SGS2 to ICS from Gingerbread I find the reception to be much worse, and of course signal loss due to the same thing.

Not sure why - nor if others have experienced the same thing - but this kinda sucks!
