When Dungeon Hunter 3 was originally advertised all the way back in December 2011, we were promised an Android release in "January 2012". Unfortunately, those plans didn't quite come to fruition, but fast forward a couple of months to the end of March and you can finally download the game for your Android device from the Play Store for free.

Like the iOS version, there are 16 arenas for you to fight through, and each of these can be played at 5 levels of difficulty so that you can return to them on a higher difficulty level as you get better.

When creating your character, you can choose from any of four classes: Warlord, Astromancer, Trickster or Shaman, and you can choose whether you want to be male or female in the new game as well.

If you want to check Dungeon Hunter 3 out, you can download it from the Play Store for free, although there are various in-app purchases that you may want to consider as you progress through the game.

    Freemium go to hell already.

  • Omac

    Completely agree.

  • Dandmcd

Wish you would have put Gameloft in the title, so I could have not wasted my time reading.

  • odd

Free isnt Freemium. Google play states it isnt comptible with Nexus S or Transformer Prime here. Passing on this one.

  • DGOG

To play it on my nexus it needs a 490 MB update to be download to play. No thanks.

  • tarman

Not compatible with my Razr Maxx but is for my D2G? Still, Freemium sucks

    • Mithra

Works fine with the normal Razr ;)

  • Chris Bozsik

So... what I see is the exact same as the previous Dungeon hunter games with a slightly improved interface and (maybe) slightly better graphics? Bleh.

    • ickyboo

No, It's worst. There's no story line and now it's just a Arena battler where you must spend money to get any place or play for 10 mins every 4 hours or buy potions to let you play longer.

  • Justified

Doesn't work on my SHS II Skyrocket or my A200. Not to mention is another free to play piece 'o' shite.

  • SchushiMuschi

I hate This freemium shit. No thanks gameloft

  • JohnK

Every knows that's how gameloft and glu do their games, no big surprise here. Doesn't do a bit of good griping about it in a forum. Like the game? Download it, don't like it? Don't, piece of cake. If you're good at the game you don't need the in game purchases anyway.

    • Jan

Bullshit, Gameloft's and Glu's aggressive implementation of the freemium model basically is a demo with 70% of the content available for absurdly overpriced "gems" and whatnot only.

    • http://codytoombs.wordpress.com Cody Toombs

I think Glu tends to be more playable for free than Gameloft. It may require a little (or a lot) more work grinding out levels or coins, but at least a couple of Glu games can be played quite a while without spending anything.

Overall, I find Gameloft to be a mess...between ripping off other companies, running freemium as a money gouger, and of course the obscene number of device incompatibilities and crashes (not to mention the terrible license code)...I just think Gameloft should be drummed out of business.

  • Mithra

Actually having played this on a friend's iPhone the freemium really wasn't that intrusive, we got through most of it without needing the gems and the keys regenerate, just don't play too much at once and you're fine.

    • Chris Bozsik

I hate those -_- "Hey guys, we just released this great game for free!" except I can only play the game for 8 minutes every 4 hours before I have to wait for something to regenerate, but if I want I can purchase 10 coins for $5 and purchase a magical potion that gives me 2 energy back so I can continue playing! -_- I'm sorry but I don't wish to spend $5 every 8 minutes to continue to play a gimmicky crappy game.

      • Mithra

You can regenerate up to 5 keys and they come back every 30 minutes, its not THAT massive a wait.

Heck its up to you but for a casual game I don't find it that much of a hinderance, 5 runs is plenty for me at once.

  • ickyboo

Don't bother with it guys/girls, They butchered the thing. This is just a mad dash for your cash. There's no story line or single player mode . It's just a ARENA game where you kill hordes of things. To get anywhere you then need to spend REAL money to upgrade minute amounts of stats or crappy weapons. Just say no to this game as Gameloft has bent you over and had a good rogering with you.

Millions of people have already boycotted this game on iOS.

  • Larry94

easy, just use gameguardian to search you gem value and modify the value to something really high. What I do for all of this freemium stuff. :)

  • czh

funny my huawei honor u8860 is not compatible but device such as samsung galaxy w i8150 is

  • Namuna

There needs to be a new category of "In-App" to designate these bullshit "Free" games that are actually trialware and require in-app purchases to really unlock the full potential of the game.

Putting these games into the same mix as actual free games just mucks/taints the category up.
