Seeing as how the HTC Vivid officially started getting its update to ICS this morning, AT&T thought it would be the best time to go ahead and tell everyone else who will (and won't) be getting the update as well. While this list holds few surprises when it comes to devices that made the cut, there are a few devices seemingly absent:

  • LG Nitro
  • Motorola ATRIX 2
  • Motorola ATRIX 4G
  • Pantech Burst
  • Pantech Element
  • Samsung Captivate Glide
  • Samsung Galaxy Note
  • Samsung Galaxy S II
  • Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket
  • Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9

...and there you have it, the story according to AT&T. But wait - what about the Sony Xperia Play? Shouldn't that be on the list? And then there's the question of devices that are fully capable of running ICS, like the Samsung Infuse 4G or LG Thrill 4G (which just got its Gingerbread update this morning), but are unlikely to ever see it officially.

Of course, there's nothing saying that Big Blue won't add to this list as time goes on, but the fact that it wasn't willing to go ahead and throw certain devices on there right now isn't all that promising.

As usual, there's no word as to when any of these update will actually roll out, as the press release was pretty vague about the topic, stating only that users can expect to see it "in the coming months," so we'll have to see what that actually means.
