After tons of leaks (mostly ridiculous), we're finally starting to hear some concrete information about the highly anticipated Samsung Galaxy S III, this time directly from the source: Samsung China CEO Kim Young-ha.

In a recent interview, Young-ha stated that Samsung is aiming to boost sales by 40% in China by launching an aggressive marking campaign for products such as TVs, laptops, home appliances, and, our favorite, smartphones. Since the Galaxy Note is already wildly popular in the Chinese market, Young-ha said Samsung is "considering rescheduling the rollout of the Galaxy S III from May to April," which makes this the first confirmation that we've heard from Samsung regarding any sort of potential GSIII launch timeframe.

While it's nice to see Samsung start to shed some light on the GSIII's possible availability, we have to keep in mind that this is specifically for the Chinese market and it's likely that it will still be a few more months before we actually hear anything regarding American availability.

I thought they wanted a worldwide rollout at the same time after the disaster that the gs2 rollout was with the US market still waiting for a single announcement while the rest of the world had the phone in hand

Maybe they still do, and maybe not just China will get it in April.

I still firmly believe this has to do with Samsung getting the most bang for their marketing buck. A month offset isn't bad, especially if every country/carrier gets a release over the course of that month. Perhaps each week it comes out to another set of countries. I wouldn't be very bothered to even be the last country on the list as long as it's only a 4 week wait instead of a 6 month wait like some US releases have been.

I really hope we see a variant of the SGSIII in the states by the end of summer with a physical keyboard. I need to update my Epic4G

physical keyboard???? You might not want to wait for the GSIII if you are looking for a keyboard.

I hate the lag we get in the USA. By the time we get a device, it's old news everywhere else :-\

I need a SGSIII variant on Verizon asap. I have a Samsung Fascinate and my contract will be running out in May, so the sooner the SIII is on Verizon the better.

I'm looking forward to the SGS3. Verizon turn the SGS2 down and I was looking forward to that device. With that being said I won't be getting my hopes up.
