For those who may not be familiar with ARCHOS' G9 series of tablets, here are the specs:

  • 1024x768 8" or 1280x800 10.1" display
  • OMAP 4 dual-core processor at 1.5GHz
  • 8GB flash memory or 250GB HDD (plus a microSD slot)
  • 1GB RAM
  • 720p front-facing camera
  • 1080p video playback
  • MicroUSB and Mini HDMI ports

With base prices of just $269 and $329 respectively, both G9 tablets make affordable, yet powerful options for those looking to get an Android-powered tablet.  As an added bonus, ARCHOS is offering free shipping on both.

    ah, archos. they always had such great ideas, but could never quite get it right. i love the fact that they are still trying though ;).

    in 2002, i had an archos media player with the same capacity as the biggest ipod (and half the price), that could, aside from, obviously, playing music, also show photos, play and record video, read and copy your camera's memory card, and connect to your tv via s-video. buggy as hell (actually often a complete nightmare), but so much potential and spirit, damn, i keep rooting for them even ten years later.

    are you sure there is 1gb ram in this models?
    the previous models wad only 512mb ram and i couldn't find any indication that it is changed in the turbo models.

    This seems like a perfect tablet =)
    (specially the 8 inch one, a little bigger than 7 inches... sounds perfect)
