Back in November, Google announced that it would be moving the annual Input/Output (I/O) developers' conference from April 24-25 to June 27-29. We've all been waiting patiently for registration to open for the now three-day even since then, and Vic Gundotra announced earlier today on G+ that users will be able to register beginning on March 27th at 7AM PT.

While it's good to finally know when registration will open, there is a bit of bad news. If you attended last year's conference, then you probably remember paying somewhere in the range of $450 for your ticket. That won't be the case this year, as the ticket prices have doubled. Yeah, you're looking at $900 just to get in the door. Still, if you plan on going, you better be at the ready bright and early on the 27th - last year's event sold out in less than an hour.

Every year I hope to go to I/O, and every year I never have enough money.

  • Luly

I wonder how long it will take this time when the price is doubled.

  • Mgamerz

Well, you do pay for the device they typically give away. Wasn't it the Galaxy Tab last year?

    • The Goat

Yep. And there was a Moto Droid / Nexus One giveaway the year before that, and a Google Ion phone giveaway in 2009. My guess this year: Nexus Tablet.

Well, they did up it from 2 to 3 days, plus it was severely under-priced in the past years, so I'm not too terribly surprised to see the price essentially double.

What about the whole coding aspect of the application? Do you think it's only for Boot Camp? Also, why do you think Google+ is needed?

    • Jeremiah

bootcamp is rolled into the developer sessions this year.

      • Nexuz-Uno

That makes sense. There was extremely high demand last year.

I'm guessing the G+ and Google Wallet requirement is to help prevent multiple registrations by the same people.

Is there some kind of age limit? I mean can I (16years old) go to Google I/O?

    • Nexuz-Uno

Actually there is. The age limit is 16. Lucky you! I went last year when I was 16.

      • http://flaz3r.com Flaz3r

Cool! Do I go as a student then?

        • Nexuz-Uno

Yes you do. Enjoy your $600 off! I know I will. :p

Do all you need is your student ID?
