It looks like those still anxious to get their hands on Samsung's new phablet – The Galaxy Note – are in luck - Amazon Wireless is offering the Note for just $249.99 when customers upgrade or agree to a new 2 year contract. That's about $50 less than AT&T's price.

Even better, Amazon Wireless is giving customers the option of a white or black version of the Note (though the color selections are officially known as ceramic and carbon).

  • 1GB of ram
  • 16GB of internal memory, expandable via microSD
  • 8MP camera with 1080p HD video capability
  • 2MP front-facing camera
  • 2,500 mAh battery
  • Android 2.3.6 with Samsung's latest TouchWiz UX

I knew this would happen but I didn't think it would happen on launch day !! lol.

I could have saved $50 and bought a nice case.

  • Oliver

The deal doesn't include existing customers who are on "family plans"... lame!! :(

      You're right. Bummer.

I have 3 lines on a family plan and I got mine as an upgrade on one of the lines.

By the time my contract is up in 16 months this phone will be much cheeper.

I really see now why ICS is designed to get rid of the hardware buttons. This version of the Note looks soooo ugly with all the buttons.

The same has gone all the way to all American Samsungs. I wonder if there will still be those buttons even with ICS...

My European Galaxy Note arrived a week ago, is rooted, and works really well. After throwing out he unwanted apps (I still use TouchWiz as the launcher) it draws almost no power -- sitting on standby on WiFi running Groove IP takes around 1% of battery an hour -- An exceptional phone.

I have the HDMI video adapter on order ($10 from China) and have already connected a mouse and keyboard via USB and Bluetooth. Actually, with an HDMI display, this thing really is a computer...
