Last week, HTC detailed the Android 4.0 update for several handsets, but many U.S. models were noticeable absent form the list. Today, the Taiwanese manufacturer has taken to its Facebook page to highlight some of the North American handsets that will see the update, most of which are on Verizon. It's a shorty, but goodie:

  • Thunderbolt
  • Rhyme
  • Droid Incredible 2
  • Rezound
  • Raider (Rogers and Bell in Canada)

Sadly, HTC left out any timeline details, so we really have no idea of knowing when to expect these update to roll out.

Stay tuned for more info on HTC's ICS update releases, as it has yet to announce Sprint, AT&T, and T-Mobile device update plans.

I couldn't care less about ICS on HTC devices if they're going to *ahem* have forcible intercourse with it *ahem* with Sense anyways. If the latest videos are any indication, they've taken away all the beauty of the OS and left it looking dated.

But custom ICS roms are not too far off!

Official updates are nice for helping out that reason alone.

      • Dom

Fair point. It would be nicer to at least have a "Revert to Stock" option if they insist on having custom skins though.

aospX 4.0.3 Pure ICS rocks on my Inspire 4G.

    • Dom

Was definitely a great ROM until my Inspire stopped working. Not as good as my Galaxy Nexus, but definitely nice to know that ICS can work that well even with older hardware.

I have Inspire 4g. How do I get ICS?

  • slurms mckenzie

expect ics for the thunderbolt in late Q4 lol

    • Mr. Dr. Boss Sr.

Yeah, the late Q4 of 2015

  • Brandon

Wow, so we are finally going to have a working RIL to start pushing into CM9 for the thunderbolt... granted its probably going to take until q4 to release it...

Has anyone heard whether or not these ICS updates will include a full bump to Sense 4.0? Or will it be some lower interim version of Sense?

I've heard in the past that HTC only gives the latest version of Sense on new models and not for OTA updates.
