Who remembers Seesmic? Once upon a time, it was revered as the go-to Twitter/Facebook client for Android, until it stopped getting updated. Bugs started occurring more and more often, many of which made the client nearly useless to most people.

Today, though, Seesmic saw its first update in many months - one that we hope fixes the majority of bugs that have been plaguing the app for far too long. Here's the full changelog:

  • This version addresses various bug fixes and minor updates including:
  • Updates to address issues with Trending Topics
  • Support for t.co links
  • Bug fixes based on feedback
  • Dropped Google Buzz support

Hopefully this will put the once-favorite app back in the limelight and appease many users all at the same time. To check it out, hit the widget.

Its about time. Wonder if they optimized it to work on ICS. Last version was Shaky at best using it on ICS.

Whatever happened to the tablet version Seesmic showed at last year's Google event? That's what I'd really like to see...

Seesmic was my absolute favorite, but I'd have a hard time going back to it now.

Even if the interface were updated to work with higher resolutions without up-sampling, and even if it adhered to interface standards of Android 4.-, knowing that support is dropped for long periods like what we experienced with Seesmic means that I'd never be sure if I were clinging to an about-to-be-abandoned product again.

Plume or bust. great on ICS, great on ICS (tablet - TouchPad).

i only use the official Twitter app for push notifications, if Plume ever gets those its all i'll ever use.

the best its tweetdeck, bc its the only 1 that when u have a lot of unread tweets it keeps on the last readed. no matter what. and show how many unread tweets u have (the color line on the right)

Was a huge cheerleader for Seesmic. Use Tweetcaster Pro or Plume now. Might try Seesmic just for old time sake.

Finally the fix for t.co links - very much needed. I still prefer Seesmic because it can properly post as page admin on Facebook and go to Twitter at the same time. Not many other apps do that (ones that support both FB and Twitter).
