Weather Underground, a popular (and extremely useful) online weather service, released its official app to the Android Market yesterday, bringing sophisticated, reliable weather reporting to the palm of your hand.

Perhaps the most handy of Weather Underground's features is the Interactive Wundermap, which allows users to get vital weather information in various forms, from webcam to satellite overlays to radar animations.

WUnderground's app also includes up-to-the-minute local conditions from weather stations near you, reporting temperatures, "feels like" temperatures, hourly forecasts, interactive maps, 7-day forecasts, and more. Weather Underground also utilizes over 22,000 neighborhood weather stations, giving you "the ...

In a not too surprising move, toy maker Hasbro has sued ASUS, claiming that the Transformer Prime tablet's name infringes trademarks related to Optimus Prime and Transformers children's toys.

Hasbro filed the lawsuit late last week in Los Angeles federal court, seeking damages and a temporary injunction. Hasbro wrote to paidContent:

Hasbro continues to aggressively protect its brands and products and the specific actions we are taking today against Asus underscores yet again Hasbro’s willingness to pursue companies who misappropriate our intellectual property for their own financial gain.

In reality, Hasbro's case is not likely to succeed. MocoNews rightly points ...

Nuance, the company behind Dragon Dictation, bought out Swype almost three months ago, but the results of the deal haven't really been exposed since. No longer -- Swype has just been updated with a "Dragon Flame" key that, when pressed, initiates a voice-to-text system provided by none other than Dragon Dictation. In its current form, it features support for French, Italian, German, and English, with Swype representatives claiming more languages are on the way in 2012.

Additionally, Swype's language modeling algorithm has been improved. What's that mean? In the company's words, this will "increase the accuracy of the suggestions we ...

While we've already seen a leaked version of TouchWiz running on top of ICS, a new leak shows us what HTC is doing with Android 4.0. I know you're all anxious to see what it's all about, so let's just get that out of the way first:

It's worth noting that this is a very early test build, so it's subject to change before it actually sees any official light. With that said, you are able to flash this now on the HTC Sensation, courtesy of the RCMix Ice v1 ROM over at XDA. ...

Update 12/21: SE published a blog post this morning vaguely detailing a timeline as to when ICS should start hitting devices. It looks like the Xperia Arc S, Neo V, and Ray will be the first to get the update sometime in late March/early April. After that, the Arc, PLAY, Neo, Mini, Mini Pro, Pro, Active, and Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman will all receive the update as well, though no ETA for that bunch was given.

Sony Ericsson has been taking owners of Xperia devices on a roller coaster ride concerning future updates -- namely the update to Ice ...

Update: Looks like things are getting stitched up on VZW's end, as a spokesperson told Android Central that "4G LTE service is returning to normal." Here's the full quote:

Verizon Wireless 4G LTE service is returning to normal this morning after company engineers worked to resolve an issue with the 4G network during the early morning hours today.   Throughout this time, 4G LTE customers were able to make voice calls and send and receive text messages. The 3G data network operated normally.

It's worth noting that 4G still hasn't been restored for me, but I'll make sure to drop an ...

You know what you need? Another office suite on your phone or tablet. Or maybe just an office suite. Of course, you probably know that office suites aren't the cheapest apps on the Market, either - most range from $10 to $30, and if you missed OfficeSuite Pro or QuickOffice when they were free in the Amazon Appstore, then you're either stuck waiting for another freebie to come along or forced to shell out the coin to get pick one up.

There is a bright side, though: Smart Office Plus from PICSEL just went free on GetJar Gold. Smart Office ...

I'll be the first to admit, I'm a big fan of Klipsch. I like their style, their sound signature, and their products generally. I started with a ProMedia 2.1 computer speaker setup, and have since graduated to a pair of their reference bookshelf speakers, and I've been pleased the whole way through. I had never, however, tried their headphones. Until recently, Klipsch's in-line control headphones designed for smartphones had only fully worked with iOS devices. With the S4A, that changed - it's the first Klipsch headphone designed specifically for use with Android devices.

Intrepid Google+ user and Android head Andy Rubin mentioned yesterday that there are now over 700,000 Android devices being activated every day.

Wow.

Although it is clearly an astounding number of daily activations, the increase appears to be quite steady. In August it was reported that over 550,000 Android devices were being activated daily, with a total of 150 million devices activated worldwide. In June the number of daily activations was 500,000, while in May it was only 400,000. At this rate of growth, Android is likely to hit 1 million activations per day quite soon.

With such ...
