2011 was most definitely the year during which Android gaming was transformed from relatively mediocre to absolutely stunning. As an introduction for all the newcomers and a refresher for those who have been with Android for a while, here are all of the game roundups we've posted in 2011.

Every single one of you should find something in there that you will want to install. I can suggest two strategies:

  1. Browse the top of each post for the cream of the crop selection (I think I started sorting by quality towards the end of the first half of the year).
  2. Browse them all, but be prepared to clear your schedule for a few hours.

You can follow the weekly (or sometimes bi-weekly) roundups here or subscribe to them using RSS.

Off you go now, and don't forget to let us know if you find anything others would like to hear about!

Before we split apps and games into two posts:

After the split from apps - these are centered around games:

To be clear, I really appreciate the Best Games of ... series you do.

But this post was a bit of a let down. I was hoping it would be more than just a list of posts tagged as such and just removing the App specific ones.

I was hoping for a top 10 games of 2011 from you :) Or top 5 racing games, top 5 puzzle games, etc. It would be awesome if you could do that. Please...

This was meant as a good place for pretty much everything released in the 2011, but we'll definitely consider doing top lists as well.

Please do one for apps and tablets! Especially for those of us new to tablets =)
Well, I have the HP TouchPad and am getting the Asus TP but the HP doesn't have access yet to some of the tablet apps w/ it being on CM7 so far.

These posts are the reason I will always keep Android Police in my feeds.

You guys do such an amazing job of getting good apps and games recognized. It is a real service to the community, developers and the platform as a whole.

    Thank you
