While we've already seen a leaked version of TouchWiz running on top of ICS, a new leak shows us what HTC is doing with Android 4.0. I know you're all anxious to see what it's all about, so let's just get that out of the way first:

It's worth noting that this is a very early test build, so it's subject to change before it actually sees any official light. With that said, you are able to flash this now on the HTC Sensation, courtesy of the RCMix Ice v1 ROM over at XDA. As far as bugs are concerned, consider this a very early alpha build, so there are definitely things that won't work as they should. Still, it gives those of you with a Sensation a good opportunity to give ICS with Sense 3.5 a whirl.

And with that, I leave you with but a simple question: what do you think about Sense on ICS?

Urgh! Sense looks so dated now....

    • MigFig

I know! HTC needs to come up with something new because I'm tired of seeing the same Sense UI in all of their phones. I still remember the good old days when the Evo 4G came out...you could easily turn Sense on or off. Of course, then HTC had to mess things up by removing this feature.

  • Ishinder

Dont really care for it. They should probably have an downloadable app in the market.

  • Ryuuie

It's just as ugly and outdated as ICS on the SGSII.

  • Michael

Any skin from this point forward is unnecessary and ugly. HTC could put Natalie Portman naked as their default wallpaper and I would still prefer stock because of how ugly Sense makes the rest of the OS look.

  • protozeloz

That looks really dated more like adw on 1.0

  • Craig

    I like the lock screen.

  • Cory

I think HTC should stick to widgets, apps and wallpaper additions. The OS level stuff is no longer necessary. Android is no longer ugly by default.

  • Matt Bernard

Looks like Honeycomb Sense on the flyer. Its quick and easy. But its just too much old for a new OS.

They need sense to differentiate from competitors but at this point in time, with ICS being so advanced, Sense is just bloat.

  • xhazyx

They should just make sick ass themes, instead of just push sense to everybody... ICS is the biggest UI upgrade yet for Android IMO, and looks pretty good to me

  • Manaurys

I don't want any skin on ics but what i want don't matter i used to care but then i took an arrow to the knee

  • Vince

I used to look at Sense compared to Vanilla and think "Wow, Sense is so cool looking." Now I look at Sense and say "Wow, what a shame. They're ruining Vanilla Android."

  • Mark

When google completes the moto deal, they need to get rid of blur and put stock android that will put an end to this skin crap

  • Jake B

What I would love to see, is HTC giving you the choice to update to a sense or vanilla ROM. (Because let's face it, they are not going to get rid of sense completely, as average customers are going to be puzzled as to why the UI looks completely different.)

But yeah, that's never going to happen.

  • Will

This leaves out the best part of Sense...the Widgets! If we could get such beautiful widgets on Vanilla, there would be no need for Sense!

  • B.G

    An absolute disaster

    • Jacques

I don't think it is a disaster. I don't prefer it to stock ICS at all, but it could be worse.

That said, I just don't get the point of these anymore. Is there anyone out there who says "I want Sense!" (or TouchWhiz or Blur)? I really doubt it. So stop trying to differentiate with the OS. Make better hardware. I swear some handset maker is going to make a bundle of cash by offering stock Android and speedy OS updates on all their phones. Maybe G-Moto will do that.

    It's not bad.It looks nice.

  • 49er.fan

I'm tired of sense... There taking out all of the tron look that comes with ics which makes the update look outdated...
