SoundTracking made its jump from iOS onto the Android Market today boasting a new, Android exclusive (for now), feature. As the name indicates, this app allows you to keep track of songs you're listening to and post them to social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter, and Foursquare for your friends to see and comment on. Included with your post will be a snippet of the song, a photo, and your geo-location.

That Android exclusive feature I mentioned before is the ability for you and your friends to play full versions of shared songs via Rdio or Spotify, instead of just listening to a short clip.

Other features include:

  • Use the Music ID feature to instantly recognize what song is playing on your phone or around you on a speaker.
  • Search for the song by artist name and title in our huge song database, if you already know what song is playing.
  • Check-in a song at venues using the Foursquare integration. A music + location check-in!
  • See what songs and locations are trending and becoming popular.

Get to it, people! I know you want to share with the world that you listen to Nicki Minaj when you're at home alone.

Getting a force close on everything except for music ID. It let me sign in with Facebook and Twitter and that's about it.

I am running the ICS alphalulz rom on my Fascinate though, so it might not be ICS compatible yet?

    Looks promising, kinda useless atm.

I would imagine it probably isn't optimized for ICS yet.

    nicely built app, love it

Seems to be a direct port of the iOS version. But anyway, I tried searching for the song I was listening to and it wouldn't even find the artist. Any way to add artists or songs (couldn't find any)?

Currently problematic for my Galaxy Y. Scrolling pages is absolutely impossible, so those with a small res screen might find themself stuck (for instance when you found a track match the 'Next' button gets pushed down below the bottom edge, making it impossible to continue your post)

Useless for me now, hope that quirk gets fixed soon
