Confirming recent rumors, a Verizon equipment guide has cropped up showing December 9th as the official launch date of Samsung's long-awaited Galaxy Nexus with VZW.

For those who have forgotten why they should be excited about the Galaxy Nexus, here are it's awesome specs one more time:

  • TI OMAP 4460 Dual-core processor at 1.2GHz
  • 1GB RAM
  • Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich
  • 4.65" SAMOLED display at 1280x720
  • NFC Capability
  • 4G LTE Connectivity
  • A slender frame measuring 5.33"x2.67"x0.37"
  • 1080p Video recording

The Galaxy Nexus is certainly a beastly phone, and looks like it will be well worth the wait when Verizon customers can get their hands on the device in just a couple of days.

so much for that NFC capability without Google Wallet though, right?
I wish my Thunderbolt had NFC

It says "backup assistant capable" so we might just be in luck on the bloatware.

    • Rick

There is only 2 bloatware on the Galaxy Nexus phone. The backup assistant and myverizon. With ICS, you can disable them in the manage applications area.

      • Fabulas

        are these 2 bloatware confirmed?

        • p-slim

Bloatware and no Google wallet are confirmed.

  • p slim

Well it doesn't come with Google wallet but that doesn't mean it doesn't work. Over at xda they have Google wallet working on all nfc devices

I've been watching this site for weeks waiting for the release date. Now that it's here I can't help but feel a little disappointed, in light of recent news. And way to release with a bang, right? By giving everyone lots of notice and promoting the heck out of it?

Verizon is a bunch of moneygrubbing dumbasses but that doesn't make the phone any less awesome.

I own 3 verizon stores. The email i got this morning was that the Dec 9th release date was changed to TBD.
