Great, I will get some... :-)

    • user311

      Thats what she said.

      • Aaron Gingrich

Artem will probably yell at me for this, but...

        Comment of the year.

      • http://darshankaria.com Darshan Karia

ha ha, true, my bad... i bought them all except asphalt 6, not compatible with my device (SGSII Skyrocket) :-(
Can't wait for more of them coming for next 9 days... :-)

  • http://rartoo.com Sean

Nice! Just bought them all, not bad for $1 :)

  • Nick

The logo for the promotion says 10 billion downloads.

    • Aaron Gingrich

      Derp. Thanks, updated!

    • Spartacus

And 10 billion is 10^10, so 10 apps a day for 10 cents for 10 days. Google does like playing with numbers.

  • Josh

Fun - late to the show, market is struggling with the traffic; getting errors on 3 of the 6 I wanted :) Oh well, snagged the important ones first, so I forget about these other three...oh well lol

  • SlugmanBr

Here in Brazil there is only 9 apps...Asphalt doesn't appear

    • http://darshankaria.com Darshan Karia

I believe it has to do more with compatibility of app with your device, rather than the country you are in in this case. I live in USA and I don't see Asphalt 6 on android market from phone either, although I can see that on android market web-site (ofcourse, i can't install it because it is not compatible with SGSII Skyrocket)
      Hope that helps...

  • SpectroBR

For some reason, the link is not accessible in "some" countries (granted, I'm in Mauritania... not really unexpected), but some of the apps are available for that price. Others just can't be found, even searching.

I have SoundHound from Amazon and the Market lists it as Purchased. I'd much rather get SoundHound from the market if it's costing me this little. Since the market is confused, it won't let me purchase the app again but it errors out and complains that I can't download the app because it hasn't been purchased. Does anybody know how to fix this??

    • http://codytoombs.wordpress.com Cody

Oh, and I've uninstalled SoundHound from my phone, still no luck

      • Steve

Try clearing market data, no guarantees but it might help..

      • James

You need to by it from googles' android website online, not through your phone, that way it will be automatically downloaded to your android phone.

        • http://codytoombs.wordpress.com Cody

I'm not sure if that works for other people, but I tried that several times, it didn't work for me. The site said it would be downloaded and neither the phone or tablet ever got it.

Downgrading the market app (as described below) is what finally worked for me.

    • http://codytoombs.wordpress.com Cody

I did a little hunting and found metaldood on Android Central had the same problem with a solution. I had to uninstall the market updates I had back to 2.x and try to buy it there. The price shows as $4.99 in the market pages but at the charge authorization screen it will show as just 10 cents. I'm not sure why, but I had to try twice to get it to work, the first time giving me server errors...possibly because the market app wanted to update before I made the purchase, so the second time I killed the market app as soon as it started and I made the purchase as quickly as possible.

  • Shad0wguy

Nearly half of these apps were the FAOTD on Amazon at some point. Might snag Asphalt though

  • Raviteja

Hope Widget Locker will also come there

  • Owen Finn

Picked up Swiftkey X and Soundhound... replacing *ahem* "borrowed" copies.

I hope we see some really stunning deals...

  • Sakuja

    thaaanks for posting!

  • http://cafe-ti.blog.br Alroger Jr

Thanks for the tip! Bought almost all of them.

  • Rob

Actualy setup a google checkout account for these, got Soundhound, Minecraft(Not even a fan, it's just too cheap to say no) and Sketchbook, which is the only one I really wanted.

  • Brandon

Whew.. What a PITA.. If your market account is stuck saying purchased even though you didn't purchase it from the market then here's what to do:

1.) Use TiBu to uninstall Market (make a backup), then also freeze Market Updater.
2.) Download and extract to a folder the CM6 gapps for HDPI devices.
3.) Copy Vending.apk from the app folder of what you extracted into /system/app on your phone and chmod 644 it.
4.) Start the market (no need to install it per say, should appear in your app drawer), sign in -- if it force closes just restart the app. From here go find the relevant app, purchase it and you'll see as mentioned Cody that the checkout displays the $0.10 price.
5.) Once done just delete the Vending.apk and use TiBu to restore your old market then defrost market updater.

These might be excessive but these steps worked for me on jt's ICS for Fascinate.

    Hope it alleviates someones frustrations...whew.

This is less about celebrating 10 billion downloads as it is about firing a shot across Amazon's bow. I think they are giving the crazy deals in response to the Kindle Fire's (which is Amazon App store dependent) success.

This looks an awful lot like the Amazon App of the day promotion.

That is just my theory. I really don't care why they are doing it, I just love the crazy cheap prices.

  • George Taylor

In the uk mine craft is actually 13p once you click buy!

If i had to be picky at this i would sue google for false advertising :/ but i love android so much :)

    • Steve

Yeah, damned Google and their tax laws! Oh wait..

  • SYO

Dang. Asphalt not showing up for me even if I spoof my SIM to TMobile (USA), clear data, etc.. :| Annoying.

I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S on Gingerbread so I'm sure it's not a compatibility issue..

  • ed

google should have made a shooping cart before doing this because i dont think too many people will be able to get all the apps everyday

  • http://www.sylogiquemedia.com/ Matthieu

Thanks! Would've missed that one! Bought all of them, 1$, insane.

  • Noreen

Thank you, Aaron & Android Police for the heads up here! And, thank you to the App Developers & Google for this!!! It is appreciated!

  • Pawnty

Thanks for the news :D picked up Minecraft and Soundhound today. Looking forward to seeing what comes up over the next 10 days :D

  • Dan

anyone know what time google will roll over each new 10 apps each day? I am in oz and am trying to work out when to check back for more cheap deals!

I had half of them already but I bought all the other 5 anyway, offer was too good to refuse

  • http://spidermedia.ru sterpazook

Bought three of those and can't buy anymore - because of getting refusal. Both of my cards attached to google checkout are refused to checkout - WTF? Is it Market error or what? I checked the balance - there are plenty of money available on both cards

  • Abhi

the same apps are now showing in Amazon Appstore as $0.10 too!

  • http://reviewandroidapp.com reviewandroidapp

fantastic...Awesome promotion, i think that i will get some of this apps...

  • http://schpydurx.livejournal.com ProfessorTom

How are the developers of these apps being compensated? Will this be any better for the developers than becoming the Free App of the Day on Amazon?

    • http://www.AndroidPolice.com Artem Russakovskii

From what I can tell, they get paid 70% of 10 cents, but with higher volume and increased visibility, it may be a good deal for them.

  • Darwin

On the market it shows 0.10 cents but when i reach payment confirmation the price is normal. what to do ? :(

    • Aaron Gingrich

The sale was yesterday only, I believe.
