Sprint

Sprint has been talking up its network enhancements, tweaks, and modernization plans for a while now, but how do you actually know when your area is seeing some action? Thanks to a new Sprint sub-site, your days of wondering are over.

2011-11-22 13h19_54

To see if your area is getting any love from The Now Network, head over to network.sprint.com and enter your location. You'll immediately see a list of enhancements done in the last six months, as well as goals for the next six months and a nifty map showing exact locations where these enhancements were made.

At the current time, the new site only shows what's up with Sprint's 3G network, so if you're looking for LTE info, this isn't the place to go. Still, it's nice to see some visual confirmation of what's going on behind the scenes. Good work, Sprint. We like.

Wow, I can't believe the thing I suggested they implement when I posted http://www.androidpolice.com/2011/10/30/what-i-learned-about-sprints-past-and-current-data-problems-as-well-as-future-upgrade-plans-after-reaching-out-to-ceo-dan-hesse/ is now actually a reality. Tons of upgrades scheduled and already done in my area (94112), looks like they're working on things.

    Last 6 months:
There are no recent upgrades for towers in this area.

    Next 6 months:
There are no planned upgrades for towers in this area.

Meh, Sadly nothing shows up regarding if they planned to put up new towers.

I see a few data speed upgrades nearby, but where I love.. I have zero coverage, nada. And its understandable they wouldn't install a new tower in a very rural area with hardly any businesses just for one person.
No roaming either as I was with Virgin Mobile.

Moved to T-Mobile for now, lets see the future of this company, but it is nice to see sprint working on speed/voice upgrades on existing towers. They really need to work on increasing those 3G speeds.

They are upgrading the 4G towers around me. A big 3 of them. I don't even come in range of them anyway. 4G is always turned off on my phone

Turn on EVDO rev.B and make my day.

this is just so they can ease up on the CS calling.

I saw "tower upgraded data within last 6 months" in one of my areas.........Really, well you better do it again because the speed sucks. The map is a straight up gimmick!!!!!

So according to this site, in the 85029 zip
    11data capacity upgrades
    10data speed upgrades
    Completed:
    21
    Next 6 months:
    11data capacity upgrades
    6data speed upgrades
    Planned:
    17

And still my 3G dl speed is only 125kbps on a good day.

I'm trying since last night and the site is down!!!

No surprise; nothing happening in Los Angeles. If only I lived in a big city where people used cell phones. Data speeds suck as much as Sprint does.
