Logitech may have said that launching the Revue was "a mistake of implementation of gigantic nature" and that it has chosen to ditch Google TV entirely, but it has, thankfully, decided against reneging on its promise of one more software update. And, yes, said software update is exactly the one that was shown to us back at the end of October: the one that brings an updated, usable interface and - drumroll please - Android Market integration.

Indeed, as indicated in the above tweet from the official @GoogleTV Twitter account, the update will be rolling out in the next few weeks, just as promised. It (hopefully) won't be long now, Revuers; soon you'll be switching to the all-new TV & Movies app from the Android Market using nothing but your handy-dandy app tray.

      It should be soon!!! I got the Sony blu-ray player... and i got the update a week and a half ago... it was two days after i got a email from google...

    Yeah, I think Logitech getting the HC update from Google and trying to make it work with their hardware over the past few weeks must have played a role in the making of today's decision. I mean why wait so long to announce this? The timing with the Google TV 2.0 release had to play in this somehow. If Logitech doesn’t plan to put any more time/money/effort into this device, why will we still be waiting a few weeks to see it roll out? The only possible answer I can think of is perhaps Google has offered to make the necessary software tweaks for them on their own dime..

    Now that they have the price right and the new software is coming soon, I don't understand why they wouldn't let it go through the holidays. It's already November - you could give it two more months before announcing that you're throwing in the towel and at least give it a chance.

    Eclair was 9 months old when GoogleTV launched with it. Honeycomb is 9 months old and we're still waiting for it. When you're trying to make the "hot new thing" you put the latest software on it from the beginning. Nobody ever took this product seriously enough... they just thought they'd ship out some gizmo with "Google" stamped on it and the money would flow in.

    Wow! Such a disappointment! I'm letting go of my hopes for these types of devices. Adobe pulling Flash, buggy-beta like software, absence of any real content...just get a small computer, hook it to your tv, done. Why mess with these flakey companies who can't sit still long enough for us use their products.

    I've been using the Revue now for a few months since the price went to $199. Aside from it being slow at times, I like it alot! For the price, it's a nice small foot print product that provides me internet access on my 50" Samsung....picture in picture is really nice when browsing during TV time, the apps work just fine...and I'm sure that with the update to Honeycomb, it will only enhance the product. I don't claim it's anything more than what it is...for $199 I get exactly what I need in my family room. Oh, the keyboard remote is pretty cool too, one I figured out how it works.

    I think that the fault of this becoming such an epic mess is not just on Google TV, but Logitech as well. They way both sides have handled this is such a disappointing.

    It is just sad that Logitech has decided to discontinue work on Google TV, because I was hoping my investment into the product would payoff. From what I understand this will be the last update available on the Logitech Revue.

    Will Google pickup where Logitech left off and send us over the air updates in the future? Or will our product grow into an outdated pile of electronic junk?

    I understand that Logitech has lost money, but does scrapping a project all together make for a good custom interaction? For me it does not, and now I feel obligated not to buy from Logitech. How can I be assured that my product will continue to have support after buying it if they go off and just simply give up?

    I guess I am not angry with ether companies, just highly disappointed. (To use a phrase our parents use to tell us when they did not like what we did.)

    I love my Revue and its sad Logitech stopped making them. They called a big mistake because of the money lost. But in my opinion it wasn't a mistake, they did a good hardware job. I prefer Revue keyboard controller over the Sony box one.

      I agree with you entirely. This is an excellent device in terms of hardware. I would love to see them make the best of it that they can and to support the users that bought into their promises. This is one of the slickest devices on the market, IMHO.

    I'm awaiting the update like everyone, but I didn't buy it expecting honeycomb and it already does what I bought it for. To me this is just a bonus.

    I was using the Revue to watch ESPN3 on my 50" HDTV wirelessly, but ESPN updated to Flash 10.2, and that left me out in the cold. ESPN3 no longer works. Am anxiously awaiting the promised update to see if Google updates Flash to 10.2, or above.

    This is a very nice device. I can't imagine why it wouldn't be supported. Hopeful that user enthusiasm will keep it alive. Foolish optimism?

    This is a cool device... I am from Mexico and I bought it from Best Buy for $99.00 plus tax. I am an Android entusiast and I am very anxious to have the Update. But, right now, the only fail that my Revue have is that all the channels from USA are not visible here in Mexico because the restriction of zone.

    But other than that, I like it.
