Fans of the SimCity line of games are in for a real treat -- EA just released SimCity Deluxe into the Android Market. Build and manage a city in seven different multifaceted scenarios -- everything from planning the World Games to dealing with a flesh-melting heat wave.

You start off with seven cities that were inspired by real-world places and the ability to manipulate each one to your liking, with access to over fourty well-known landmarks to add to the mix.

Since you're the town's keeper, it's up to you to ensure safety during catastrophes like blizzards, electrical storms, locust plagues, or even meteor showers all around. As if that wasn't enough, you can even be struck by multiple disasters at once. Have fun with that.

SimCity Deluxe is optimized for tablets and phones alike, and is available in the Market for $4.99 US, and there is also a version available from EA Nederland B.V. for $5.50.

The game is built for the 4:3 aspect ratio iOS display and is stretched to fitcthe widescreen display of Android. The textures also look fairly low res and grainy. I refunded the game because it's a terrible port that looks especially bad on a tablet.

Don't think I'll pay for a game like SimCity that's completely "scenarios," with the actual game not there. Never did like them. Always loved starting from scratch. Oh well, guess I'll keep my emulator version that runs perfectly.

bah from the way you said that i thought this game didn't have good old regular "from scratch" gameplay, which is does. I'm glad i waited before refunding.

I never bought the game, just going off of the description. Just re-read the article and it still sounds like there is nothing but scenarios. But sorry for the confusion.

EA - WHY YOU HATE GALAXY S2?

For $5 they could have done better. Refund...

May I ask which game out of the series you're playing?

Finally. I've been waiting for a simcity game since I got my android phone.

I would love a true port of Sim City, plus other classics such as Red Alert 2, Twisted Metal 2, and so on...

Sadly, the developers do not want to make new money out of old software! Until then I can live with my PSX emulator, but hey, developers!, we will give you our money if you give us the option!

Not available in Hungary, but reading the comments it looks like I won't miss out on anything good. I know I could access the US market with some tweak but I won't bother.

there are two releases, one from EA and other from EA Nederlands. i could only buy the nederlands release (which is slightly more expensive >:\ ). you should try that too

It is a little unpolished and that's a little disappointing but having SimCity on my Transformer, that's just great!
