With the Ideapad A1, Lenovo made it easy for those on a tight budget to get a tablet. Sure, it's no Galaxy Tab 10.1 or Transformer, but for kicking back on the couch and surfing the web, watching videos, or playing a game to kill some time, it's just what the doctor ordered. There are two versions available in the US -- 16GB and 32GB -- and the former just underwent a pricedrop over at Amazon. Previously $249, you can now score this little guy for $199.

You do know that "latter" refers to the last one, right? I think you meant "former".

    I believe the 2 versions are a 2 GB and a 16 GB - not a 32 GB.

I just ordered one for my mother to skype with her grandchildren

I just ordered one for the kids for Christmas. SO glad I cancelled my Kindle Fire pre-order. I don't have the time or inclination to hassle with rooting, and we aren't already invested in Amazon Prime. Looks simple, price is right, cameras are good, Google Android marketplace without voiding warranty, what more could I ask for?

Amazon claims this device hasn't even been released yet.

Please let us know if the $199 for 16GB deal comes back. I want one but that sub-$200 price seems just about right. I've heard it's expandable with micro SDHC 32 GB, but I don't see that on Lenovo's specs. Can anyone confirm? Thanks
