You may remember last month, when some developers cheekily requested that Android's logcat icon be replaced with an image of the famed nyan cat. You may also remember that their request was granted, boosting some users' productivity by up to "200%."  Thanks to an anonymous benefactor, we've got something even better:

That's right, a nyandroid boot animation. Finally, you can see Andy rocketing through the galaxy, leaving a trail of rainbows behind, each and every time you switch on your device. Not sure how to install custom boot animations? Check out our guide before grabbing the download below.

Can this brick my phone? I really want it and I Googled how to install custom boot animations, and I was led to [http://gadgetfeel.com/how-to-install-custom-boot-animation-in-android/], and read that it could brick my phone if it wasn't the correct boot animation for my phone. How can I tell? I'd prefer my phone not to be a paper weight.

I can't see a way how this could brick your phone, unless you do something retarded - just follow directions and you'll be fine.

Just got this working on my Nook Color...need to put the file in /data/local for a nook FYI.

My little sisters were going crazy over that silly animation a couple weeks ago, I can't wait to show them, they are going to pee their pants.

This boot animation pays my child support and makes my G1 as fast as the Galaxy S VII. Thanks AP!
