Last month we saw an unlocked version of Samsung's Galaxy SII at Mobile Daily Steals for a cool $100 off its original price. If you were hoping to get an ever so slightly deeper discount on Samsung's hottest smartphone to date (still waiting on the Galaxy Nexus), your chance has arrived. For the next 24 hours, a "limited quantity" of SIIs are available on eBay for just $489.99.

If somehow you've forgotten, or haven't been paying attention, here are some of the SII's specs:

  • Android 2.3 Gingerbread

  • 4.3" WVGA Super AMOLED Plus Display

  • 8MP rear shooter and 2MP front shooter

  • 1GB RAM

  • 1.2GHz Dual-Core ARM Cortex A9 Processor

  • Expandable Storage via MicroSD, up to 32GB

The unlocked SII will work on a wide array of networks, making it ideal for an off-contract purchase, or phone to take on trips. If this sounds like the deal you've been waiting for, head over to eBay before time runs out and take advantage of the discount!

Anyone know if this "unlocked" version is compatible with Verizon's network?

Also, I'm not seeing if this is a 4G device.

    Anyone know?

No, i'm 99.999999% sure that GSII is a SIM/GSM card phone, whereas VZW's network is CDMA (except for LTE, but that's not compatible either).

Btw, this phone will NOT work with AT&T (850/1900Mhz) nor T-Mobile 3G (1700/2100Mhz)

What the.. So the phone doesn't work on any of the major 3 telcos in the U.S. but the sale's only open to people in the U.S?!

      • Zac

It works perfectly with ATT (850/1900). Just doesn't work with HSPA+

Thanks, all. While I do know a good bit about phone specs, I've been on Verizon for years and know very little about network specs.

      I appreciate the help!

    Quad band UMTS 850/900/1900/2100

Should work with AT&T 3G according to those specs

  • Joe

  • Abdulelah

Major European wireless providers follow the GSM standards, but in US our providers are fighting each-other and the customer is the looser.
