Samsung-Galaxy-Note

The massively oversized Samsung Galaxy Note may be an oddity in itself, but one thing is for sure: it's a dang cool oddity. It's huge, fast, the display is vibrant, and comes with a build-in stylus for note-taking and drawing. Sammy is clearly trying to bridge the gap between phones and tablets here, and to be honest with you, it looks like they've done a pretty good job.

To highlight the Note's duality, Sammy just released a new commercial; have a look:

What do you think? Pretty cool, or just another gimmicky device trying to find its way?

Cameron Summerson
Cameron is a self-made geek with an affinity for all (okay... most) things tech. His love for Android has been noticed in some unlikely places - he once went to a concert and upon meeting the band, the singer said "You're like, Android king, right? Can you you tell me why this doesn't run flash?" and handed Cam his Optimus S.

Definitely cool. I'm still going with the Galaxy Nexus, but the Note would be a great 2nd device if I had money to burn and lived in the UK

  • Fabulas

    Bring that thing to Verizon!

  • Bill

    ^ What he said.

Hopefully this will come to the US in 2012!

In love since day one. If it comes to Verizon it might actually suck because then I'd have to decide between the Note or the Nexus... crapola.

    Looks pretty cool and impressive.

I really do want this. It's the one device I would get over the Nexus. I'd probably regret not having ICS, but I'm sure it would get it 'eventually'.

"Is it a phone, or is it a tablet?"
    "Yes."

If it is a world phone (gsm/cdma etc), I'll bit the bullet & get it off contract. I don't like being tied to a carrier for 2 years if I want to move somewhere else. I bought my streak that way...this one will be a LOT more expensive from what I've seen.

Thought about doing the same, but I'm tired of T-Mo's terrible service (where I live anyway). Think I'll switch to Verizon, so I'll probably just go with the Nexus.

Not phablet, it's a Sport-Utility-Tablet or phonelet depending on how you swing.

    • http://zalzalaweb.com/jens anakin78z

      It's a crossover :)

      • Joel

that would make a tablet the "minivan" equivalent wouldn't it?

        • Freak4Dell

Crossovers are a mix between SUVs and cars, so it would make the phone a car and the tablet an SUV.

  • Anderlan

    I think it's a tablone!

how does one fit that in there pocket?

  • Joel

technically my 7" tablet fits in any of my Jean pockets. I'm a little guy at that. I imagine this would fit comfortably.

  • Edd

This is my next... "thing" :)

I might hold off to know if ICS is coming and I am disappointed by lack of NFC in terms of future proofing

  • Abhinav

    pretty cool !!!

  • T

    Definitely cool
