SlashGear reports that Motorola Mobility and Verizon Wireless will be holding a joint press event on Tuesday, October 18 at noon.

We do not have any additional information at this time, but in the past few weeks we have reported on a number of leaks about potential Motorola devices, and the "next big innovation" could be any one of these. A big clue is the event title itself "Faster. Thinner. Smarter. Stronger," which could indicate that the device is either the sleek 9mm XOOM 2 or the Droid RAZR.

Oh, and there's also a trailer:

Def not a tablet.. if you notice the video tags that motorola added to it, one of them is "new smartphone"!

It looks like the outer edge has some grip material -- something all OEM's should be putting on these large phones. This one is gorgeous and does not break the 4.3" limit -- a big deal for some.
