If you've dreamed of being a renegade cop ready and willing to bend all the rules in order to put a stop to street crime, then Gameloft's newest title 9mm is the game for you.

You play the part of aptly named John "Loose" Kannon as the head of a special taskforce of like-minded cops set on ridding the town of crime, regardless of what measures need to be taken. You end up on the wrong side of the law after killing a drug lord's brother and stealing millions of dollars, becoming the target of every gangbanger in the city. The only way to survive is to kill them before they kill you -- legally or not.

I felt like a virtual badass just writing that synopsis. This game is chocked full of in-your-face action, violence, and all the bloodshed you can handle, offering third-person style gameplay and matrix-like slow motion effects, allowing you to take down every wrong-doer in the room. You get an array of weapons to choose from, including a pistol, shotgun, submachine gun, grenade launcher, and more, all ready to use in a variety of environments and locations.

If you're not feeling the traditional-style gameplay, you can also chase, capture, and interrogate informants in the interrogation challenge, or play online with your friends in the Free for All and Team Deathmatch gunfights.

9mm is $6.99 in the Android Market, hit the widget to grab it.

boo, both my transformer and my evo don't show up in the list for supported devices...?

I've contacted with Gameloft asking about transformer support and the reply was that they don't make games for TF101 yet, but they are planning to... who knows when..

I thought the Vibrant was one of the best gaming devices on the market.

Please, don't confuse me, with him. ;)

The Vibrant is still pretty decent, the SGX540 has no issues powering through Gameloft games. It's one of the faster single core devices available. But the app size limit is a major issue as far as recommending it as a gaming device. Many games are bigger than 30MB.

This looks pretty sweet but as much as I love Gameloft games I've sworn off buying them (not that my E4GT is "compatible" with this one anyway).

Great games but I'm sick of having to mod my build.prop just to play them whenever I get a new phone. It's sad that I have to make their games think my superior phone is a piece of inferior hardware.

  • Christopher

Does anyone know why gameloft doesn't make the game compatible with my EVO? Thanks in advance.

I said it before and I'll say it again. The Evo has the worst GPU of all the Android phones from the past two years.

The Adreno 200 found in the Evo, the Incredible and the Nexus One was slow when it came out, today it's just pathetic.

If you want to play high end 3D games you need at a minimum an Adreno 205, the GPU found in devices like the Thunderbolt and the Evo Shift.

But I would recommend a device with an Adreno 220, PowerVR SGX540, Mali-400 or Tegra 2.

"But I would recommend a device with an Adreno 220, PowerVR SGX540, Mali-400 or Tegra 2."

Ahh like an Asus Transformer, wait that's not supported either.

LOL BURN! But my comment was too short so this is a little filler for the day. Stay thirsty my friends.

        • http://lettersfromdave.wordpress.com daveloft

Yeah its not supported but that's for some other ridiculous reason. Not because the GPU is slow as molasses.

There's a work around for the small cache size of the Galaxy line of phones. It's on XDA somewhere in the i9000 Android dev't sub-forum. :)

There are different variations to the hack but essentially it's a script that creates a virtual cache to temporarily take the place of the true cache partition. It happens at every boot.
