Verizon just keeps pumping out LTE connectivity in new areas across the country -- we saw no less than 15 cities get their piece of the LTE pie last month, and now 26 more are all set to get lit up tomorrow, September 15th. VZW already dropped the names of 15 of those cities last month, but here's the list in its entirety:

  • Fort Smith and Jonesboro, AR
  • San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara, CA
  • Daytona, FL
  • Bloomington, Champaign/Urbana, Rockford and Springfield, IL
  • the Quad Cities, IL/IA; Iowa City, IA
  • Shreveport, LA
  • Kalamazoo and Saginaw, MI
  • Reno, NV
  • Las Cruces, NM
  • Fargo, ND
  • Canton, Lima and Mansfield, OH
  • Dyersburg, TN
  • the Tri-Cities, TN/VA
  • Austin, Beaumont/Port Arthur, Wichita Falls and El Paso, TX.

VZW customers in San Francisco, CA; Indianapolis, IN; and Cleveland/Akron, OH can also expect an expanded LTE coverage area.

I'm still waiting on VZW to spread some LTE love in my area, but for those who will get in on the action tomorrow: Congrats!

I can't wait until this list finally includes places like Hooterville, and Middle-of-nowhere.... Towns you have to zoom in more than just once on the map to get listed... Us rural country hicks need LTE love too !!!

Didn't Verizon say they wanted to partner with locals in rural areas that already had established infrastructure (i.e. radio stations, etc) to help get LTE into the rural areas faster? Did this not happen or am I just expecting too much that I'm only seeing major cities on the list...

It's still very, very early. Dyersburg isn't exactly a bustling metropolis- but I suspect they were helped by MEM and LR already having 4G.

I still feel like they're being very aggressive in their roll-out- so here's hoping that 2012 will bring even more expanded coverage.

And still no Savannah, GA. This makes no sense with SAV being the top tourist destination in the state. Not to mention Bluffton and Hilton Head got LTE yet we are the media market here.
