Yep, you read that right - we're giving away a DROID BIONIC, and it's not even out yet (well, it will be in less than 24 hours), courtesy of the awesome folks over at Stack Exchange. Why? Because we want to help supercharge Stack's amazing Android Q&A site, Android Stack Exchange.

ase

Android Stack Exchange, a child of the StackOverflow family of sites, is sort of like a dedicated Android Q&A Reddit + Wiki + FAQ for answering all your questions about everything Android. It really is pretty amazing, and unlike Stack Overflow, it's not aimed at developers - on the contrary, it's for users like me and you.

Here, check out some sample questions which show the kind of great community responses you can expect from the site:

That awesomeness aside, you should love Stack Exchange anyway - because they're providing us with a DROID BIONIC to give away to one of you. Which actually makes them even awesomer.

The Prizes

If you haven't heard of the DROID BIONIC, you've probably been living under a rock the last 9 months. But, just in case, here are the important specifications:

  • Dual-core TI OMAP 4430 1GHz processor
  • 4.3" qHD LCD display 540x960
  • 1GB RAM / 16GB onboard storage
  • Android 2.3 Gingerbread with Motorola skin
  • Micro SD slot (includes 16GB card)
  • 8MP rear camera (1080p video capture) / VGA front camera
  • 4G LTE
  • 1735mAh battery
  • mini-HDMI out
  • DLNA support

image image image

Generally speaking, the BIONIC is probably going to be the closest competitor to the Galaxy S II available in the US for the next few months. And it has Verizon's super-speedy 4G LTE - a feature no Galaxy S II can lay claim to.

Update: The folks at Android Stack Exchange decided to throw in the lapdock and the HD docking station + Webtop adapter into the giveaway! Very nice!

  • JinRoh

    Sadly Only USA :(

    • David Ruddock

The BIONIC is a US-only device. Please direct your complaints to Motorola.

      • JinRoh

No complaints! Actually I had never heard of this device (and now I know why).

        Thanks for all these giveaways!

        • David Ruddock

Ah I see, well, in the future - when we hold a US-only contest, it's always, always for good reason. Usually because the prize won't work (in any practical sense) in a foreign country, or our prize provider won't ship outside North America.

In this case, it's the former.

        • http://www.AndroidPolice.com Artem Russakovskii

You've never heard of the Bionic, even though you live in another country? I'm shocked - it's been annoying and teasing us for the last 9 months.

  • Tejas

Done with all the steps..Hope I win..:)

  • jim

    Wooooo

    HELLS ya AP. Thx!

  • hmax17

This is why I love Android Police...Like I have said before and will continue to say, Android Police is the best Android blog out there. Great info, fast updates and amazing contests for awesome prizes as well as the chance to be creative now and again! I know I sound like a suck-up or whatever but I don't care...Android Police is the best in my opinion, for the site as well as how awesome they are at answering questions via twitter even when mine are stupid and obvious...Thanks guys for a wonderful site!

    • http://www.AndroidPolice.com Artem Russakovskii

      :D

  • Michael

Maybe I'll have a chance now that it's only for the US :P

  • Grayg

Always US only... :( I understand this one because it works only in the US, but all the other giveaways were limited to US too

    • sgtguthrie

Try again... Most of the winners have been outside the United States!!!

    • http://www.AndroidPolice.com Artem Russakovskii

As David said above, almost none of our giveaways are limited to the U.S., and the ones that are, are limited because either the prize provider forced us to do that or because the device is U.S.-only.

  • Nocturnhabeo

And done... now for getting dressed and going to work...

  • http://matcollins.com Mathew Collins

Thanks again AP! You guys have the best news and giveaways!

  • George Tunaya

Cool - I've been looking for a good replacement for my OG Droid :D

    • http://twitter.com/#!/hmax17 hmax17

Thats what I have too! I love my Droid but she keeps giving me space issues...Shes been faithful though *solo tear*

  • Firelight

Excellent contest & I like the verification policy. Shaw-weet!

  • Hans-Erik Stegeby (@swehes)

I'm excited. Been thinking of moving over to Verizon. This may just do it for me. :)

  • Tommy

    Awesome! *crosses fingers*

  • IamBeast

I hope I win this! Need a new phone bad :/.

  • franco

Just wondering if it is possible for ppl from outside the US too enter and if they win too then nominate someone from the US (family/friend) too get the prize sent too.

This for my point would not be so the family or friend could send it on but just a nice thing too win for a friend or family member.

I would be just as happy if i won too get the gift sent too a friend in the US with regards from Fanco and Android police.

  • mikeymop

This would make my year if I won. I've been hyped about the bionic since the first rumor. You guys are pretty damn fast to get one before release.

  • ocdtrekkie

"That's it. Remember, you can enter up to three times, and each entry increases your chance to win."

Is this just referring to the fact that you can enter via all three methods, or can you do that three times for each?

  • http://Twitter.com/Dr_Overdose @Dr_Overdose

This phone looks amazing. I entered all three ways. Considering my Droid 1 no longer has volume buttons, randomly turns off without warning and is all around falling apart and I just don't (and wont for a while) have the money to replace it I really hope I win.

  • Kevin

Done! I've entered the last 3 giveaways, maybe this'll be the one!

  • Matt Boler

Hope I win! OG Droid is on it's last legs.

  • Elvis

    I wanna WIIIIIIINNNNN!!!! har har!

Nice giveaway, on a side note the Bionic only has 512MB of RAM from what I read today, so is it 512MB or 1GB as noted here?

    • IamBeast

1GB of ram. Motorola would be beyond stupid to release a top tier phone that is suppose to compete with the iPhone 5 and the GSII with only 512MB of ram.

    • http://www.AndroidPolice.com Artem Russakovskii

      It's 1GB - http://www.gsmarena.com/motorola_droid_bionic-3710.php

Webtop-compatible phones should all be high on RAM. The Atrix had 1GB, and so does the Bionic.

  • http://gplus.to/mlordmistress Jessie

I really really hope I win, I am in need of a new phone, I have an old Alltel Scoop that's on it's last legs.

  • Gerardo

i really hope i win this time the bionic looks great

  • Eddie

    show me some Bionic love!

  • Andrew

why is this not open to uk people? the droid bionic would still make a great wifi only device

    • http://www.AndroidPolice.com Artem Russakovskii

Precisely why - we want the person who wins to use the device to its full potential and not as a glorified MP3 player.

  • http://android.3xforum.ro Bogdan

You guys are pretty damn fast to get one before release!

  • http://azpunk.com TPStank

The Force is strong with this one...

  • http://LinuxForDummies.org Cliff Wade

I would so love to have this bad ass phone. Though I'd do the right thing and give it to my son for an early Christmas present! :)

  • Jason Pucilowski

I have the cliq, my mom has the Cliq 2, my brother has the Droid 2, my dad has the Droid 1. There is a problem here. I need the Bionic so i can switch to Verizon lol

  • Abhinav

Fingers crossed Hope I win something from AP :) sometime soon and hope this is it :)

  • Jeff Wright

Just may be the coolest phone ever. Save me from my Iprison with the bionic powers of Motorola!!!!!!

  • http://plus.psylink.net Scott Psylink Rager

Today is the day, hoping for a win, I need a new phone. Getting bored with my Thunderbolt. I may even do a giveaway of my own w/ my CM7 Thunderbolt if I get this.

  • Eddie

Well Scott, hopefully someone who really needs a phone wins it because it is obvious u don't really "need" one.

    • Jason

Honestly, No one "Needs" the phone. I've lived so far without it, so i dont NEED it, its just a nice thing to have

  • http://twitter.com/#!/hmax17 hmax17

Oh wow Stack Exchange and AP! WOW! The whole kit and caboodle! Times up! Can't wait to congratulate the winner!

  • heartbraden

Words cannot express how incredible it would be if I won this, out of all the contests I enter. I can't wait until the winner is announced. Good luck everyone!
